This group is for everyone living in the DC metro area who's interested in Drupal. You can post here about anything relating to DC and Drupal, whether that's local job postings, events, or just a call out to talk shop over beers.
You can also find us in a couple of other places:
- Group on Meetup.com for events (they handle events better, with reminder emails and whatnot)
- Group on groups.drupal.org for discussions and job posts (that's here)
- #drupal-dc on freenode
- @DrupalDC on Twitter
We have a great meetup every month where we get together to connect in person. The target audience is Drupal developers, users, and people who want to learn more about Drupal. We start the meetups with a round of very focused lightning talks that discuss real world solutions to existing problems, new work people have done, and Drupal news. Some of these talks are about code, and some are not. We do ask that all presenters talk on a level that everyone - including non-developers - can follow. After the talks, we chat over beer, and maybe play a few games of foosball.
We're open to ways to improve the meetups and this group, so speak up if you have ideas!

- Hang out for a bit and meet new people
- A few quick lightning talks and any announcements
- General discussions
- Quick introductions of everyone
- More hanging out and drinks

Hi all,
Drupal 8 is getting close now with 40 critical bugs left: https://drupalreleasedate.com/chart/samples. It's possible that we'll see a release this fall: https://drupalreleasedate.com/
Our OSTraining team would like to make sure that as many people as possible can use Drupal 8.
However, many new Drupal 8 users will need training, which can be expensive and difficult to find.
So, we're running a campaign to give everyone free access to the very best Drupal 8 training.
The campaign link is: http://kck.st/1Eu07Jw
Many thanks for checking it out

Read more@TaotiCreative: web dev firm (in DC) is looking for a Drupal Dev Lead
Your job is largely to quarterback big Drupal projects—not so much from a project manager point of view, but as the tech lead who will determine what to build and how to build it based on the planning documents you’re given (or help create.) You’re an accomplished developer at this point, perfectly capable of executing the project on your own, but your role is as much about helping other (more junior) devs up the ladder as it is about getting things built.

Drupal is great for all manner of web sites, but a web site is just one of many services a domain may provide. A corporate intranet, for example, may provide email, instant messaging and calendaring to their users. At our April meeting, John Franklin will present a case study using Drupal as a front end to manage some of these other services so that users can manage multiple services in a more centralized manner.
