Chicago's local community of various user groups focused on Drupal. Groups have meetings each month in/around Chicago. Please be sure to join our group if interested in posting or hearing about Drupal-related job opportunities in the Chicagoland area.
The Drupal Chicago Meetup Group holds meetups on various topics and networking opportunities. Presentations and speakers are aimed at a general audience, with site show-and-tells, module demonstrations, news and announcements, and question and answer sessions.
If you live or work in the suburbs, check out the Fox Valley Drupal Meetup group with topics for all users.
Volunteers in the Chicago Drupal Group also organize MidCamp - Midwest Drupal Camp. Drupal camps are multi-day events that can include training days, session days, code and documentation sprints, and social events. Held annually in March, MidCamp is quickly becoming one of the larger and prestigious Drupal camps due to its high level of speakers, content, accessibility, and attention to detail.

I'm working with a company that has a number of affiliates with websites. We want to change the base platform for those sites, and a hosted Drupal solution looks like it might be the best option. I've been considering Drupal Gardens, where we'd create a "template site" and new users would upload that theme and basic setup into their own Drupal instance. The sticky issue for us is support. Our affiliates are not Drupal admins or even particularly technically proficient. They need someone to call to walk them through the process of creating a page, uploading an image, modifying a menu, etc.

I'm working with a site that has many, many pages that each have many, many files attached. I've now been asked to look at reorganizing some of the nodes and attachments. Straightforward enough. However, some of those files should/could be attached to more than one node. I really don't want to upload multiple copies of the same file.
Is there a way to attach the SAME file to more than one node? The File Attachments dialog has only an upload button. Is there a variation that has a search or browse server button?
