This month we are again putting out a call for themed lightning talks. Volunteers get between 5 to 10 minutes to present a talk. We are looking for talks on the following topic:

Layout, Theming and Display

This hands-on Drupal course teaches attendees how to operate basic functionalities in this powerful content management system in a single day. Student learn an understanding of Drupal terminology, methods used to create Drupal sites, and how to locate, select, and add modules to a website.

If you are new to sprints, we'll be running the new contributor onboarding (a Drupal Global Training Days session in conjunction with the 2018 Drupal Global Sprint Weekend - Boston). No experience required.

We'll start at the beginning, and cover the various aspects of working in the Drupal issue queue. Every aspect is hands on to get you contributing as quickly as possible, including:

• setting up and using common development tools on your laptop
• adopting Drupal best practices
• unearthing an issue from the vast list of choices

For the fourth year in a row the Boston Drupal Group will be participating in the Drupal Global Sprint Weekend. Join us on January 27th and 28th (9am - 5pm each day), as we collaborate with the global Drupal community to work on core Drupal issues.

Everyone is welcome- you can choose to help with coding, theming, UI, UX, testing, documentation, ... We will split into groups and work on Drupal issues. Make sure to bring your laptop.
