Orlando Drupal Meetup (Migrate), April 21 1pm
Come learn how to use the Migrate API and a small custom module to import data from just about any system into a Drupal 6 or 7 site. Migrate has been around for a while, but the current branch relies heavily on writing code and making it very easy to run all your migrations from Drush. It also integrates with a ticket tracking system so you can have your client review the migrations.
My project is to connect to a backend system that uses Postgres and try to keep Drupal in sync with it - that will be my example this week.

So, I'm a Drupal n00b and I'm trying to display some data from an external MySQL database in a View. I found a Module called Data that says it can do what I want, however, there is no documentation and I have NO idea where to begin with it.
Do any of you guys/gals have experience with this module?
I could really appreciate some pointers.
Thank you in advance!!!
Read moreUpcoming May Meetup Topic for Tampa?
So, Tampa has it's next meetup coming up on May 3rd. As far as I know, we don't have anyone currently scheduled to present anything. We can always fall back to just general questions and show & tell, which I think can be just as valuable as an actual presentation, but if we want a presentation we should throw out some topic ideas and see if we can't get one of us to speak on it.
I'm not actually sure what I want to know more about at the moment, so I don't have any pressing topic ideas :)
Anyone?
Read moreDrupal and accounting
How do you take information out of Drupal sites selling widgets and into an accounting programs like Quickbooks?
Business software like TradePoint360 and NetSuite are commercial packages, which are tightly integrated with accounting . . . yet I never see any mention about Drupal and accounting - none whatsoever but this is the very first question I hear form business owners.

Hello everyone. I'm having trouble accessing a site migrated from Webenabled to my localhost. It seems that I lost access to the site following a Windows update. Please see attachment with screen shots for file structure, Drupal control panel, and databases as well as a detailed explanation. I am curious if anyone else has encountered a similar problem and if so, how did you solve it? Thank you.

Seeking ace with the Florida Drupal Empire!
Greetings all!
I am working on a project and could use a little help with some tweaks from a Florida Drupal Empire ace in the Orlando area. This is pretty basic stuff, but I'm a content dude and not a developer! Here's where I need a hand:
To add new rails to my right rail. This should be simple, but something is keeping me from being able to do it. I need someone who can show me how to create them and move them around as I please.
Add a teaser rail to my right rail with thumbnail images that link to other content. I have an example of what I want to do that I can show you.

In order to (hopefully) prevent history from repeating itself, let's use this thread to reinvigorate the 4 (that's right, I said 4) Coding for a Cause projects:
- Feed Florida First
- Victim Service Center
- Aerostars
- Central Florida Computer Society
At the April 12 Brevard meetup, we were able to discuss a few of these. If you're involved in any of these projects, please leave a comment below with a status update.

The issue of supporting the C4C effort beyond the initial burst of energy provided the C4C event is still a problem. Assuming that we improve our batting average with this years event, we might able to boost the sustainability of the effort with Crowdfunding.
I know some thoughts addressing the sustainability problem have been floating around. I thought this should be added to the list of possible solutions.

We'll be meeting this Thursday April 12th 6pm at the downtown Alachua County Library Headquarters (in the foundation room).
This months topics are still to-be-determined, but I'll be giving a quick how-to on adding contextual links to nodes listed in views. It's actually pretty cool.
More topics will appear in the comments shortly.

So, after taking a lot of our (FL Drupal Mafia) discussions from DCon Denver a couple weeks ago into consideration, I've come up with some sketches of the ideas that had the most relevance and interest. Attached is a PDF file that has three pages.
The first page is the initial ideas that I had about how we could implement a design, but they are a bit complex for a t-shirt, and way too complex for a sticker.
