Last month's meetup at Urban ReThink was pretty great. As long as everyone is cool with the arrangement sitting upstairs, we can keep the meetup at the same time. We also raised over $50 for the Urban Think! Foundation in donations, partly in thanks to Don VanDeMark!

Good morning,
I just wanted to give everyone a quick status report on Florida DrupalCamp 2012 and to let everyone know of some areas where we're looking for some additional help. We have a great group of volunteers already (24 at my last count), but we need some more to make this not only the best DrupalCamp we've seen in Florida, but also one of the best in the world. We've got a great location partner (Rollins College Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership Center), a great fiscal partner (Central Florida Computer Society), now we just need a few more volunteers to help us pull it all off.
First, a quick update: Florida DrupalCamp 2012 will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 with Coding for a Cause the following day. Registration is now open - tickets are currently $20, but the price will slowly creep upward as we get closer to the event (so register today!). Session proposals will be open shortly - if you'd like to propose a session, you'll have until the end of December to do so. We've got a great group of sponsors, including our Platinum sponsor: Trellon, and our Gold sponsors: Big Couch Media Group, Software Quality Engineering, Mediacurrent, and DrupalEasy. Additional sponsorships are still available, contact me if you're interested.
We're still looking for some help in some key areas to make this the best DrupalCamp ever. The areas include:

The 16th meetup for the Tampa Bay Drupal Users Group is this Thursday, December 1st @ 6pm.
This month's meeting will be an "open forum" with no set topic. As the year comes to a close, we want to discuss with local TBDUG members the topics for discussion going into 2012, as well as offer general advice on anything Drupal related. Our normal projector and screen will be there however, so if someone would like to present or discuss a specific topic while there then we can certainly accommodate.

Read morere-using registration over multiple years
Hi. Last year I made a registration form for an artist group for their yearly event. I made a content profile (called it artist_profile) and as the artists filled out the form for registration, they were filling out their artist profile. I created a view that was populated as each registration was completed. (http://www.maoas.com/dev/drupal/participants2010) It all worked fine. But I didn't think ahead! This is an event that will happen every year. So....
I need to create a new registration for this year.
I need the new view to be created for this year's artists.

Using _phptemplate_variables to determine page layout
I have a site where I need to add a doorway page - for lack of a better term. The site's new index will have to main links to other nodes on the site. The current index page is going to be one of those pages. The problem I am having is that the current index page has a distinct layout that it must maintain. I found a tutorial on Lulabot.com (I think) on how to create a custom index page. That worked fine. I added the following function to my template.php file:
function _phptemplate_variables($hook, $vars = array()) {
switch ($hook) {
case 'page':
global $user;
