Florida DrupalCamp 2011 setup
Brevard County February Meetup Reschedule
February's Brevard meetup has been re-scheduled for Saturday, February 12, 2011. This will be an extended meetup - it begins at 9am and ends around 5pm.
Also - we have a new location for this month's meetup - Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida (yes, I realize this is not in Brevard County).
On a completely unrelated note, it turns out that Florida DrupalCamp 2011 is being held at the exact same time at the exact same place! What a coincidence!
See you there!

Read moreManged VPS Drupal Hosting Experiences?
I’m looking for managed VPS hosting for SurfingNosara.com. We currently use Media Temple, but they’re slow- even after doing as much site optimization as I can.
The primary goals are
- Database and processor speed. We currently use the Boost module to handle most anonymous traffic, but when logged in, the site crawls.
- Disk space – We currently use around 30GB of disk space (mostly high res image uploads), but we may start having more automated uploads and videos.
- Multiple Sites - There are several other sites that will be hosted within the same VPS
I started doing a bit of research into different competitors. I’ve looked into Linode, and Webenabled but they seem only to offer unmanged VPS services (managing it via SSH unless you install CPanel/Plesk).
I see that many other companies have managed VPS, but when I search for reviews, I get mostly spammy/affiliate links from Google.
Does anyone have any positive experiences to share that could help out?

Does anyone want to sell a good old Mac?
I've been a PC for a long time. Now I want to try Mac, but I want to start cheap. If you want to upgrade, or you have an extra Mac sitting around, please contact me. It must be an Intel-based Mac running Mac OS X Snow Leopard version 10.6.4 or later. I'm hoping to spend less than $500. Is that enough to buy a usable laptop??

Florida DrupalCamp 2011 Web Site and Registration Now Open!
Registration for Florida DrupalCamp 2011 (February 12-13) is now open at FLDrupalCamp.org!
We're pleased to announced that the Florida DrupalCamp 2011 web site is now up-and-running and is the main source of information about the camp, including location (Rollins College in Winter Park), sessions, and attendees. We've added a user forum to help attendees arrange carpools from various parts of the state, and are working on finalizing the session program.

Can anyone out there recall who may have initially setup the domain name for FLDRUPALCAMP.ORG? None of this year's camp's organizers can recall and I've tried a few others. We would really like to document this and get control of it so we can easily change the name servers hopefully to Acquia in the future.

Meeting Minutes for Broward Drupal Meetup held on Wednesday, January 12th, 2011
We held our Broward Drupal monthly meetup on Wednesday, January 12th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm (we just had the regulars this week). We continued to have remote users participate in our meetup via Skype and TeamViewer.
After catching up on what we had been doing the past month, Jason discussed his new accupuncture site: http://acupuncture2.polishyourimage.com/ (Zen-based theme). Chris mentioned that he uses Zen for sites with more complex themes and Fusion Starter Lite for simpler sites.
