Our next Sarasota Drupal User Group Meeting is Tuesday.
I hope you can attend the meeting at 7pm Aug 2nd. We are meeting at Panera US41 & Bahia Vista.
If you have a topic you would like to discuss please share with the group.
I think we need to discuss other options for a meeting space so if you have any good ideas bring them.
I can do an overview of the "rules" module if there is any interest in that. http://drupal.org/project/rules
We had a good turn out last month -- lets see if we can top that. Invite a friend.

July 2011 Gainesville Drupal Group Meetup Wrapup
The Gainesville Drupal Users Group met last evening at the Alachua County Library HQ (in the Foundation Room). First on the agenda was beginning the theme for our new group website, GatorDUG.org. Previous to last night, we had the default Bartik theme installed and in use. I had come up with a mockup in which we were going to do (see the mockup here).
So, we started theming by first creating the *.info file, page.tpl.php, relevant CSS files, etc. We also installed the views carousel module to do the carousels.
We were able to complete the general structure of the theme and get the views configured within the two hours. Its pretty ugly right now, but all the functionality exists, and it just needs some TLC and CSS (and maybe OPP – who’s down?). Next step is creating a wiki page on groups.drupal.org/gainesville, where we can divvy out tasks so we can get the theme cleaned up.
Also debuted, was the new theme and configuration for www.SurfingNosara.com. We also discussed and demoed some of the intricacies of Apache SOLR search, and discussed some theming of minipanels in megamenus that will be going into a University of Florida IFAS site (don’t recall the URL).
Our next meeting will be August 11th. Hope to see you there!!

Need Coding Help
I'm helping Bill91750 with his Inland Empire site and running into some issues that probably need some custom code. We are using Drupal 7 and loving it!
- Age: The user profile needs to have an age calculated from a DOB. Using the Computed Field module however, in order to use in Views, you need to save it to the database. This then prevents it from being updated unless you re-save the node. We also want to be able to search on an age range for users. What would be the best way to calculate the age on the fly and be able to use that data in a View or search?

Relaunch / Retheme / Refactor of SurfingNosara.com
Surfing Nosara is the most popular surf report in Costa Rica. It's updated multiple times per day with new surf reports and photos. The site also advertises real estate, vacation rentals, hotels and restaurants. The site is based out of the small town of Nosara, Costa Rica, which is located on the Pacific side of the country.
The site started in 2005 as a Joomla site, and was migrated to Drupal in early 2009. During the intial Drupal migration some bad architectual decisions were made including having a separate CCK field per content type for the same data. For example, there are separate CCK description fields for hotels and restaurants.
The Goal
The goal of the refactor is 1) to update the "look and feel" of the website, and 2) Usability improvements on the Real Estate and Vacation Rental landing pages - the money-makers.
The old design is a table-based hodgepodge of data. One of the strengths of Surfing Nosara is the great original content on the site- this is why the site remained popular.
