This is a duplicate from: http://drupal.org/node/1142922, and I am a newbie in hosting and trying to host a SNS site, so I need some advise about it.

Seems to me that GreenGeeks has less memory but more disk space and bandwidth, and it also support cPanel ( additional $10/m will be charged for the cPanel license if you want to add cPanel to VPS )
I am still not sure which one to choose, since I do not know:
1) How to compare the "Equal Share CPU" with 0.84 GHZ
2) Which is more important for a SNS site, memory or disk space/bandwidth
3) How important is the support for cPanel
4) Which of the above two companies provide better VPS service.

You can run an Amazon AWS/EC2 tiny instance for less than that per month - especially if you use the us-east-1 availability zone and pay reserved pricing for the instance. It's also free for a year if you are a new customer. You may also want to try to get in on what Pantheon is building: http://getpantheon.com/
I'd say go w/more memory
I agree w/Robert here about trying AWS as it's something I've been wanting to play with myself (also for a SNS site, well sorta). I'd also LOVE to give Pantheon a shot but have been trying to get a beta invite since the day I read about it launching on Drupal Planet w/no luck.
I recently did an in-depth study of the 2 VPS hosts I was considering for various Drupal sites of mine: Media Temple vs. Linode. While they're not the 2 you're contemplating, it came down to bandwidth vs. memory, for me. In the end, I gave a bit more importance to memory OVER bandwidth because these are all (& will be) Drupal sites & Drupal is known to have lots of read/writes to the database. Memory's the one, out of memory/disk space/bandwidth that helps most with this. The CPU would also help w/handling that overhead.
I'm curious to hear what performance specialists prioritize or take into consideration when building scalable Drupal sites.

AWS
If you guys need AWS help just start a new thread, I've been using it daily for years now and can likely help. Just be prepared for a heavier dose of Linux sysadmin configuration and orchestration. It's not the land of cPanel+Milk+Honey. If command line scares you AWS may not be the right option, or else use another service that layers management on top of it.
I would say that if you want fast+easy, bug the Pantheon guys to get in early.
I also agree about memory - the more you can roll into active live memory the better.
Other options?
I'll assume since you posted in a Drupal forum your intent is operating Drupal apps. There are hosters specializing in optimizing their servers for Drupal? Did you consider these and just curious why you selected these specific "generic" options?

I have a hostgator VPS account for the below site and couldn't be happier. Keep in mind I have the 4ip package ( the one up from the one you are referencing) but have had no issues whatsoever. Customer service is very legit as well.
