Hi. Please introduce yourself.
I've been building Drupal sites since 2006 (Drupal 4.6) and moved to Santa Clarita (Valencia) approximately 2.5 years ago. I work as a Systems Analyst at the California Institute of the Arts and am interested in getting to know fellow Drupalers in the area :)

New to Southern California
I'm new to Drupal, and interested in making new acquaintances. My background is in software development for mathematical algorithms, scientific research, avionics, 3D modeling and I have a special interest in the history of computing. I've been attending the "Pro Drupal 7 Development Study Group" (using the book of the same name) at droplabs.net, and getting a lot out of it. I operate my own hosting facilities, colocated at DCAnet, in Philadelphia, PA, and Wilmington, DE.

Hi. I am the New Media Director at The Signal newspaper in Santa Clarita and built the scvbj.com website using Drupal and more specifically, the Open Publish distribution. I have been using Drupal for about a year and a half and am excited that Ashok has started this group because I would love to learn from other Drupal users in the area.

Waiting for the Cafe event at Islands near CalArts...
Hi Ashok,
A quick reminder to get a good feeling for who will attend is hold a "Drupal Cafe", declaring from 7 to 9 PM you will be seated at restaurant X, with a Drupal book on the table top.
Does Islands there have outdoor seating? It's far easier to find the Cafe leader.

I'm a Pro from Dover whose been doing Drupal for a while now. I currently hold down a day job doing Sr. Level Drupal development while working with a business partner on launching a top notch Drupal development shop (Newhall Interactive) right here in the SCV. I'm pretty excited about having an SCV group for Drupal, b/c as big and awesome as the LA group is, it's always difficult trying to justify the time and expenditures it takes to regularly attend all those meetups.

Just stopping in to say hello.
Can't wait for some events to happen! There's a bunch of us from Princess that are joining. We use drupal for our shipboard intranet ( and eventually entire intranet). Anyway, were definitely heavy drupal users and excited that there's a group close to the office!
