If any Drupalchix are in or around the Los Angeles area, you might want to check out the So Cal Linux Expo (SCALE) Women in Open Source event. It takes place on Feb. 20th just before the full-on SCALE conference. They're accepting proposals, in case you want to speak. I went there last year and gave a crash-course on Drupal, and it was a really cool group. :) They invite women involved in open source software to talk about any number of things, from technical information to management strategies to social issues. You can view last year's program to get an idea of the material.
Anyway, http://scale7x.socallinuxexpo.org/conference-info/women-in-open-source-c... if you want to check it out. :)

Angie's presentation last
Angie's presentation last year drove a number of people to the Drupal booth that we held at the conference. In addition, our local meetup following SCALE saw an additional 15 - 20 people and many of them have continued to come back.
If you are at all comfortable speaking in front of a crowd of 50 - 100 people, it would bring a lot of value to the Drupal community for you to participate.
Also, we (The LADrupal community) be hosting a booth at this years conference as well =].
We'd love to see LA Drupal members there helping
LA Drupal members should consider volunteering. Even if you aren't comfortable speaking to large crowds we'll still need Drupal booth volunteers (last year was all men).

Yup, great conf!
All true! Angie´s great presentation sent me over to the LA Drupal booth. I´d already decided that I was going w/Drupal but & Angie´s presentation was perfect as it´s what sealed it for me.
Had no idea there was an LA group & it´s been awesome ever since. :)
Would be great to see more women involved in open source participate. Going to forward this thread to the LinuxChix LA group.
