This is a neat idea:
http://www.pledgebank.com/AdaLovelaceDay
If you admire a woman in "technology," (a huge arena, but it would be great to have some drupal/open source representation) add this to your calendar (March 24) and participate!

Seems like an excellent concept! Hopefully gets better explained
Thanks for sharing this, Rain. Yes, it seems like a great concept, including a great reminder of Ada and the hopefully increasingly many more to follow her... like yourself!
I found the introduction on this page fairly confusing (as quote["I will publish a blog post on Tuesday 24th March about a woman in technology whom I admire but only if 1,000 other people will do the same."— Suw Charman-Anderson (contact)]). Who is this person? Why is he/she making this odd & stringent condition if such a supporter? And the following text doesn't answer either of these Qs, nor explain what's really going on, either. Many who might pledge (like me) could easily just get turned off just having to work so hard to trying to figure out what it is all about. It would seem much better to just say straightforward something as quote[Tuesday March 24th is Women in Technology day! And hundreds of people are pledging here to make a blog post on that topic on that day. Pledge yours today!]. As well as being much clearer for everyone, I think this simple clarity alone might boost signups notably. Perhaps you'd pass on this feedback to the organizer by pointing him/her my thought above, so an excellent concept doesn't go heavily to waste.
BTW, from your personal page, impressive business & personal websites, Rain! And one thing which I'd like to read on your user page (since you so nicely completed yours) is what you do or are-planning-to-do with Drupal :-) Sincerely, -DrupalPal
