I am trying to implement Ubercart on an existing website. We currently have products set up (product content type) with additional fields. What do I need to do in order for Ubercart to recognize these fields? Do I need to copy the existing products to Ubercart products? We also need to make the product displays and order forms look like the current site. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Drupal Admin Training: March 8, 2010
Announcing the next Boston area Drupal training on Monday March 8, 2010, from 9AM to 6PM, to benefit Cambridge Community Television in sunny Central Square, Cambridge, MA. Enrolling in this excellent workshop will not only provide you with a solid foundation in Drupal site building and administration, it will also 100% sponsor the excellent social media programs operated at CCTV.
This workshop will be lead by trainer Sean Effel of Drupaltherapy, so if you've enjoyed those screencasts then this is your chance to spend a day with the same level of high quality instruction in a supportive learning environment.
This intensive all-day workshop will arm new and novice level Drupal users with a schooling in Drupal basics including installation, configuration, core functions, contributed modules, themeing, and a dose of Drupal stunt driving. This is high quality Drupal instruction in a price bracket that individuals, non-profits and small businesses can afford. Here is a sample of the curriculum we will cover.
If you want a one stop kick-start to the Drupal project, this class will give you a solid overview of all the aspects and help set you on course to better understanding of Drupal. These classes book full very quickly, so register early! Deadline to register is March 1, 2010.

Hi Everyone --
I had a really great time at my first Drupal meetup last week and would like to try my hand at my first drupal site. Does anyone have any recommendations as to where I can get drupal hosting, or is there a drupal site similar to wordpress.com that lets you create a hosted page?
Thanks for your help and I look forward to the next meeting!

A path to Drupal Greatness / Training for the newbie
Hello everyone,
I am new to this and I need help learning this well.
Kudos to the community, everyone is soo open and willing share guidance. The meetups are great, the sharings at Muddy are awesome!.. But let’s face it, not everyone possesses the same gifts when it comes to learning. Some people, like me, need a little hand holding to start our path to Drupal Greatness.

I'm trying to create a Drupal site where users can register to drop something off using the Date field, and then schedule a pickup date in a specified time frame after that original date (they drop something off on Monday for example, and they can pick from a drop down to pick up on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday).
This would all then be recurring on a weekly, semi-weekly or Monthly basis.

Hello Bostonians- I am building an artist portfolio site with the usual suspects (views, cck, etc.; + draggable views, which is awesome BTW) and am beating my head against a brick tree here. My client has four types of artwork, which are tagged in taxonomy as Photographs, Paintings, etc. She now would like albums within those categories, and I thought, keen, I'll use Taxonomy to create a second vocabulary of albums.

On the docket this week is a how-to on setting up a development environment on your computer. Have you tried to fix bugs in your or someone else's module by injecting code that prints out select variables for you? After this cafe, you will be able to forgo that frustrating process and instead be able not only to monitor all of the variables in the code, but also to step through your and Drupal's code one line at a time!

OpenNY Summit - December 11th and 12th
"Get help or share experience using Drupal in government" caught my eye in the Sunday session description below. This was posted to Sunlight Labs' list. I thought some people might be interested.
I'm not 100% sure I can go. I'd like to go Sunday 12/12. If I do, I'll have room in my car for three more. Anybody interested?

The Voip Drupal work group will be meeting this Wednesday (12/2) 6-8pm at the MIT Media Lab.
Our goal is to add VoIP capabilities (phone extensions, voicemail, voicemail groups, conference calls, audio events, etc.) to Drupal websites.
The team is currently focusing on the integration with the Asterisk open source PBX and there is a lot of interesting work to be done (http://groups.drupal.org/node/34210).
At this meeting we are going to explore the architecture of an existing system (www.whatsuplawrence.org) and brainstorm about the project's next steps.
