This post contains the notes, with all the action items, from last night's meeting. Thank you to all who attended, and who will help out! At the end of this post, a revised sitemap and wireframe set is attached.

If you would like to take part in the development of ladrupal.org but do not yet have access to http://projects.sunrainproductions.com, contact me and I'll get you set up.

Recap of LADrupal.org rebuild Meeing: 11/5 meeting

Primary Agenda Points / Conclusions

1. Final decision about D6 vs. D7
In the interests of getting started, we'll be building this site on D6. In fact, we'll be going a step further: this site will be using the install profile from drupalcampla.org as it's starting point!

2. Update on hosting
Our dev environment is almost entirely set up courtesy of Benno. Long run hosting has been figured out by Mike Stewart and team.

3. Update on sitemap
We reviewed the sitemap and preliminary wireframes. An updated version based on last night's notes are attached. The wires are by no means final, this is a starting point. But the sitemap can be seen as the blueprint off of which to work on the site itself.

4. Review and fill out Content Types
We accomplished a lot in this area. In fact, we got through all of the content types and filled out what fields each should have. We also figured out some core functionality that belongs to those content types.

The following content types should start off by using what is already built on drupalcampla.org:

  • presentations (session proposals on dcla)
  • member profiles (users on dcla)
  • sponsors

The "meeting" nodes
We figured out a lot about how these will work. Using node reference, we'll enable many other nodes to reference meeting noes specifically . These nodes are:

  • videos
  • slides
  • presentations

Additionally, hash tags will be used to make sure that past meeting nodes are able to display all tweets, shared photos (from photo sharing sources like Flickr) and past raffle winner photos are also able to connect to meeting nodes.

Unfinished agenda items

  1. Assign tasks (please take a task if it isn't yet assigned!)

  2. Get started on building!

Next Steps

Step 1
Upgrade drupalcampla.org install profile to 6.14 and then set it up on Benno's dev server. This will be the base off of which we build the ladrupal.org site.

Step 2
Provide every user level with insight into using SVN so everyone can work on the site.

Step 3
Everyone interested in helping identifies what they want to do, and we all begin doing it!

Step 4
While all of this is going on, Rain and Benno will work on the design (if interested in helping with this, contact me or Benno).

Next meeting

Ideally our next meeting will be one during which we'll be looking at the site together and ironing out oddities and kinks.

We didn't discuss a date, but so far we have been meeting on the first Thursday of each month, so we can plan that again: December 3 (SUBJECT TO CHANGE!)

I have a very nice and very large "Party Room" in my apartment building downtown.
there are probably a dozen couches and many tables, complete with kitchen, fridge etc ... would hold 100's of peeps if necessary.
It's free if it doesn't need to be closed off (pool is outside the big doors (people walking through instead of around)).

Just throwing it out there
