Sorry for lame question: How do I keep from receiving the same email multiple times?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

These groups have been extremely helpful, but sometimes I receive the same email notification of a post or reply 2 or 3 times. Is this because I'm subscribed to multiple groups and posts are being sent to each group separately?

Is there some way to make sure I only receive notification once? I've looked in the account settings and didn't see anything.

Thank you,
Joe

Nope

I wish. Unfortunately, the notifications system on this site sends out updates for every edit of a page, and every group to which it is posted and that you subscribe.

I've unsubscribed from most email notifications and instead rely on the RSS feed to inform me of new posts.

Thanks

Thanks for clarifying this for me.

Although what sucks is by merely posting this reply ("Good call") I'm basically shooting myself in the foot (well actually myself as well as Signal)... lol So I guess I'll shut up now.

Many people (including myself, sorry) edit their posts within a few moments of publishing them. This sends out multiple notification emails.

It may not be ideal for everyone, but changing one's notification setting from "immediately" to something else should limit the number of notification emails.
