Open Office Hours at Droplabs matches experts in startup mentorship, software development and business model generation, with local area programmers, entrepreneurs and small business owners.

This unique event combines one-on-one mentorship with a networking event and provides a fun, high energy experience for everyone. Best of all, participation is free!

Depending on the level of attendance, our Open Office Hours have used time slots for a show-and-tell presentation format or a one-on-one consultation "speed dating" model that ensures that all participants have equal access to all our expert mentors.

Mentors at this Open Office Hours

Christefano Reyes will be the mentor at this event. He is a managing partner at Solar Ignition, a venture capital fund and accelerator program for early-stage startups. Solar Ignition backs entrepreneurs working on big ideas and values-based businesses using open source principles.

He also works at the design and engineering firm, Exaltation of Larks, and at Droplabs' network of coworking spaces. He's a public speaker on open source software, high performance websites and internet security, and is a startup mentor and Drupal community organizer.

My experience

I am a chef/writer and I want to help people eat healthier. I am currently at the early stages of what I know will be a large ambitious and technologically demanding project. Over the past few days I have had the pleasure of having several conversations with Christefano. We sat down yesterday, and in the space of less than one hour, he gave me more hope and better and deeper potential solutions to problems that I had been experiencing than the combined total of all those who went before him. He cared enough about my project to give me a homework assignment that moves forward the process. Not only that, but that he would be answering my homework questions on his own time!

I found Christefano to be kind, able to talk tech without getting lost in the forest, so I felt that our technical discussions empowered me to think through solutions to issues I didn't even know were issues. The depth and breadth of his technical mastery of so many complex programs and processes is a little breathtaking, to be sure. I have a much deeper and more grounded faith in my project doing what it is intended to do, and to the possibility of helping so many others as the app/program launches. I am looking forward to working at Droplabs and using their wealth of technical knowhow. From the moment I walked into the facility I was made to feel comfortable.

Thank you so much!!

If you simply rocked, that would be enough, but the magnitude at which you rock is truly momentous!

I am amazed at Christefano's generosity in sharing his expertise and facilitating learning Drupal. Due to traffic delays I met instead with Joseph Del Rivo who was very thorough in answering my questions and helping me take the next step in advancing my knowledge and benefiting my clients. Thank you for making this possible.
