Drupal Training Day in Bryan/College Station

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I am planning a whole day of mentor-guided, self-led Drupal training in Bryan/College Station. I don't have any details yet-- was just interested in it and came across https://buildamodule.com/train as a super guide that looks really approachable. My Drupal 8 is currently very limited to just a few personal, one-off projects, but I am ramping up and want to share what I've got and learn more.

I am looking for organizers, mentors, old friends I haven't seen in a while :), and of course attendees!

Thoughts?

Count me in on this one, sounds like fun. Got lots of migration and D8 exp to share.

Do you have a date in mind? LJ is Drupal 8. And I'd love to hang out!

When do you plan this?

Could time it with upcoming

Could time it with upcoming global training day Nov 30 - Dec 1 https://groups.drupal.org/global-training-days.

Put me down for mentor. I have a ton of stuff (power strips, note cards, pens, etc) from previous sprint weekends, trainings I can bring. There's the adug slack (stuff doesn't get delete as fast as drupal slack) and I have zoom for planning resources as well.

Training days is ideal!!!!

Ok thanks everyone (and good to hear from y'all again!). This handful of mentors to float around and be available is encouraging-- now to gauge interest from attendees.

I love Brandon's terrific idea to coincide with Drupal Training Days. Between 30 (Friday) and 1 (Saturday), I'm guessing Saturday is most flexible for y'all out of towners to drive up to B/CS. I myself could only make the morning portion, but that should be Ok.

Probably g.d.o is not the best place to gather to discuss logistics, assignments, and what's next. Slack is real time and interruptive, with email, thoughts can get buried in threads. Here's an idea:

You should be able to comment, and we can ratify ideas back in that main document. Maybe eventually close it to Edit Only shares soon, but wanted to open it for more fluid discussion.

Happy to help and learn

I have been working on several Drupal 8 sites for the last few years and am still encountering fun and interesting challenges.

Happy to share what I have found and what others are finding!

I will be visiting in the Houston area and am excited to hangout :D

Sorry, this dropped off my radar

I think this didn't end up happening? Sorry, I dropped the ball on following up, the google docs doesn't send notifications (or I didn't enable them?).

Next GTD is in 3 weeks Feb 7-9 if you want to try again, I'm still game to help out.
