Howdy. New to the group, and not exactly a drupalero yet. I'm working through "Using Drupal", but continue to wonder if maybe I've missed something obvious with an off-the-shelf module for event scheduling. I'm trying to migrate a volunteer group from a sharepoint set up to drupal, and the functions we most need are scheduling and file storage. All pointers greatly appreciated!

Publishing events
What features are you looking for with event scheduling: calendar of events, rss feed, attendee signup, group scheduling (meetings)?
Have a look at the date and calendar modules for starters.
