Am I crazy for doing dozens of roles?
I'm working on building out user badges as a major feature on a news site, where users can submit or vote on various amounts of various types of content to get X or Y badge, some of which give the users new permissions and some of which are merely decoration.

Hi!
I´m a webdesigner and digital marketer from a Media Group in Portugal. I´m currently managing 3 web-newspapers that I´ve developed using HTML and Flash.
A couple of days, I´ve discovererd this group and I´m amazed because is exactly what I´ve looking for.
I´ve to start a development plan from a new webmagazine (it will be the first portuguese magazine (print+web) of rewenable energies), and I´m very tempted to choose Drupal for being the CMS.

I am currently using Drupal to build a Business Journal website for our newspaper.
In previous discussions with our corporate office (and web development team), my publisher mentioned that he liked a local site that happened to be built using Joomla. Our corporate development head then proceeded to bash the Joomla platform, as not being adequate for the needs of a newspaper, both for feature and security reasons... which I agree.
I know from the Drupal.org site and others that Drupal has been used to build many high-profile sites (Whitehouse.gov being one of them).

I am trying to find the simplest way to create menus using images that rollover.
I came across the imagemenu module which seems to be for that purpose, but get stuck in the process. The module asks for me to designate a "path" for the files (both original image and rollover), but everything I try does not seem to work. I have it pointing to the file folder set up under "Site Configuration/File system" and I also attempted to put in a URL directly to the file (http://www.....).
If someone is familiar with imagemenu and if that solution would work for me, please help : )

Using panels and views for a news site
Hi all,
My communications team would like a news type of site with main stories, images, and have it updated regularly. I've had good success with implementing a lot suggestions that i've found on the group but i'm having trouble over one issue. I'm hoping to use panels and then have views as blocks but can I theme these view blocks? I would full control over styling and theming the panel and all the view blocks but i don't know the best way to do this. I haven't found any good documentation on this.

Simplenews + Mime Mail + Drupal 6 = Broken Images
I realize this is probably not the best place to ask this one, but the developer of Mime Mail seems to be pretty much inactive, and I figured some other folks in the newspaper industry might have run across this one.
I'm using Simplenews, Drupal 6, and Mime Mail to create a daily newsletter of our top stories. I've created a view called Newsletter and used PHP to call the different blocks I've set up to display the story title, the thumbnail image, and the teaser text.
