Drupal Self-Help Group meets again, Thursday, January 24, 2013.
The Drupal Self-Help Group will meet again on Thursday, January 24, 2013.
We'll share our questions and help one another figure out our problems.
NOTE: In the future, meetings will be scheduled for the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. This makes it easier for people to remember when the meetings are and also eliminates the possibility of a meeting being scheduled for the same week as the MIT Drupal meeting.

Read moreA less robust version of Content Access
I routinely use Content Access to control visibility of content type by role, which is absent from the built in permission options.
For ref: /admin/structure/types/manage/[content-type]/access
-- "view any page content"
-- "view own page content"
However, that module also comes with "per content node access control settings" by way of a seductive checkbox that people always seem to click.
Can anyone recommend a module that is "less robust"?
The only feature I need is to limit access to view pages by content type and role.

Question about setting up users
Hi all,
I am setting up a Drupal site for tournaments involving users from many clubs with the following needs:
-
users sign up and choose the tournament(s) they are signing up for, but only ones they have been invited to.
-
each user has an ID which is unique, assigned by the national organization
-
Each user belongs to one club, and the tournaments are always at a club.
-
Each tournament has one or two organizers who need to be able to see the info about the users signed up for their tournament, but regular users should only be able to see their own profile.
Really cool video of last night's Boston Drupal Group meetup
The video from last night's meetup
is online. I spent the night trying to doctor my own contribution into coherence, to no avail, but the technology works like a charm. Full list of presenters below. Be sure to check out the controls on the right side of the screen -- that's the secret sauce.
Session Schedule is Final! Make your agenda!
As the camp approaches quickly on the 19th, we've scheduled the sessions and posted them to the camp website. Please register to attend, if you haven't yet, and make your agenda!

Hi Folks,
I've just recently launched a side project that I thought I'd share with the folks in the Boston Group (I'll probably talk about it for a minute at the meetup tomorrow). It's called The Module Off; it's a contest for Drupal devs to show their stuff. Every two weeks there will be a new module development challenge to which participants can submit code and a screencast for a chance to win a sweet prize.
There's only 3 days left in the current contest, but if you wanted to give this one a shot, there's a Nexus 7 tablet up for grabs!
