About Greater Los Angeles Drupal (GLAD)
Greater Los Angeles Drupal (GLAD) is the umbrella group for most of the Drupal activity in the Greater Los Angeles Area.
With several weekly and monthly events, the Greater Los Angeles Area is one the most active areas for Drupal in the world. We've been bringing more Drupal to more people since 2010, and have as many as 10 meetups and other events dedicated to Drupal topics each and every month.
Our members and organizers have produced hundreds of Drupal events, including job fairs, meetups and workshops, conferences, paid trainings, coworking days, study group sessions, movie outings, FREE tutoring sessions from Drupal professionals, and website barnraisings to benefit non-profits and members of our community.
The Greater Los Angeles Drupal leadership team endeavors to actively empower and support volunteers and attendees in the Greater Los Angeles Area, and to provide resources (venues, guidance, equipment, raffle prizes, etc.) and an open governance model with consistency, transparency and accountability.

What's different about this group? (?)
In addition to our unique open governance model, GLAD has a different geographic focus than other regional groups. Formerly named Downtown Los Angeles Drupal, we've been meeting regularly in and around Downtown Los Angeles, California, since early 2010.
GLAD organizers lead a large number of events in the Greater Los Angeles Area, including Downtown Los Angeles, Koreatown, Culver City, Santa Monica, Pasadena, the San Fernando Valley, Orange County, Riverside and Ventura.

Read morePhotographic Blog homepage: Is there Drupal module that can do this?
This site's http://www.tamariskrtw.com/ homepage is displaying nodes chronologically using images from the latest posts. The mouseover displays summary text. Clean and dramatic design for a image-intensive blog site. But also appears to be a sluggish.
Already checked. Not a drupal site.
Is there a drupal module that can approximate this? This would be godsend for photographers and/or travelers posting constantly.

Read moreHow to tell what theme a site is using
Hello,
This site's design: http://flattr.com/ looks very familiar to me. It looks very close to an existing drupal theme, whose name I cannot think of right now. Can you tell?
Is there a way to tell what theme a given is using. I am thinking probably not, but perhaps some of you have figured out some way to make an educated guess.

New to Drupal or the SGV Drupal meetup? See http://groups.drupal.org/node/295838#comment-918913 for notes from a recent meeting. Here's a testimonial from a happy attendee:
This is a very well organized and informative session. We got a good mix of senior developers and new comers and some in between. It is a pretty good turn out with 11 people considering it is in Pasadena right around rush hours. People are just terrific, very friendly and ready to help others. Feels like I have moved forward by leaps and bounds. Thanks everyone!
Do you have a presentation or job announcement that you'd like to share with the group? Is there a topic about something you'd like to see a presentation on? Leave a comment at http://groups.drupal.org/node/311628#comments to let the organizers and attendees know what you're interested in.
