Welome to the Mid-Atlantic, USA Drupal group! Our goal is to bring together Drupallers who live and/or work in the areas between DC and NYC, including (but not limited to) Baltimore, Wilmington, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and surrounding communities. Members of this group should be people who would consider coming together in person with other drupallers in this region-- for fun, work, camps, etc.

Central NJ meetup, March 3
I assume we'll stick to the same focus since we had to cancel the last meeting.
Proposed focus:
Active coding and mutual assistance on code, themes, and other technical issues. Come get input or help from fellow Drupal users. Show everyone your code or talk about the challenges you are facing. After initial discussion, work in smaller groups including one focused on tacking one or more Drupal 7 bugs.

Please join us at Zivtech HQ for our February Drupal MeetUp. As usual we'll have pizza and beer and we'll split into two groups (beginners upstairs in the lounge, non-beginners in the main area), but unlike last time we'll have plenty of chairs, and we'll probably remove the tables in the main area to make room for more people.
If there are any subjects people would like covered in the non-beginner group please speak up, otherwise we'll just do a show-and-tell like last time.

IAS is a short distance from Mercer Street. See here - http://www.ias.edu/about/directions - for directions and a campus map. For those who are familiar with Princeton University, we are basically on the other side of the golf course. It is a little over a mile from the train station, so walkable. For those coming by car, park in Lot A. There should be plenty of parking in the evening.

The October 2009 Central New Jersey Drupal meet-up will be held on the campus of Princeton University. While we will be open to discussing all Drupal-related topics, we'll have a focus for this time on using revision control software. We will discuss using CVS to get or deploy Drupal core or contributed modules from Drupal.org. In addition we will discuss the use of subversion (svn) as a tool for managing your own custom code and for deploying custom code or the Acquia Drupal distribution.
We will mostly use the command-line tools, but also take a quick look at using them via an IDE like NetBeans. We'll try to make this hands on, so it will be useful to have these programs installed on your computer or a remote computer you can access.
The meet-up is being co-sponsored by the "Princeton Unix Users' Group" (an undergraduate student group).
We will meet in the Rockefeller residential college classroom (in Madison hall), which is near the corner of Nassau St. (route 27) and University Place in downtown Princeton. The classroom is reached by going through the Holder Hall courtyard to the entrance that leads to the Rockefeller College common room and dining hall. The exterior of this door is labeled "Rockefeller College Office". Immediately inside this door are stairs leading up to the classroom above.

Fellow Media Moguls,
We're shaking off the dust from the Media module, which was sadly neglected during the heady Summer of Code, where we got Stream Wrappers into core! I'm excited to meet now with my fellow Drupalistas, and get the module presentable for Drupal 7 (and Drupal 6, if anyone is interested in helping on that front).

We need to figure out which day works best, I am going to suggest the first Monday of the month. So that gives us Oct 5th.
I just saw Aaron in a screencast about the Media project. I downloaded 7, briefly didn't get it working.
Aaron would you want to give a 15 minute demo. And perhaps expose to use a bit of how you develop in the project. Or how others might get comfortable with using CVS or drush to get acquainted with new development? You can just do it ad-hoc or off the cuff. We could meet at xforty in Mechanicsburg, we have a projector.

The main topic for this meet-up will be Views. Using, themeing, etc. Sorry for the delay. I hope people can still fit this in their calendars.
Please sign up so we have a rough estimate of how many people will attend. Also, if you have particular questions/problems regarding Views, please post them. That way we'll have a better idea of what everyone needs help with.
Again, held at the Institute for Advanced Study.

Harrisburg Drupal Meetup Tonight!
Here's a reminder about the Harrisburg Drupal Meetup this evening (Tuesday, September 1) at 6-8 at Panera in Camp Hill. Looking forward to meeting other local Drupalistas. Hope to see you there!

Hi all,
Just wanted to mention that I started a Drupal Meetup group at http://www.meetup.com/drupaldelphia/. This is not intended to replace or compete with this site, but as a tool to reach a wider audience, as lots of folks are on meet up that are not on Drupal Groups.
I am interested in helping to organize monthly Drupal meetups -- what's the latest on the one for September?

August is going to be tough for me too, and since Aaron can't make it I am pushing this to September. I also pushed this to Tuesday. We can meet at Panera, in Camp Hill. From there we can see who shows up and perhaps rotate between the two panera's on the east and west shores. Or if we want to move to a more formal setting, we can get a class room at ITT. We can discuss what we want to talk about initially, now and come prepared or just wing it. I am working on several interesting project any of which I can choose from and talk about.

Because many people will be away, I am not organizing an August meetup for central NJ. Obviously, anyone who feels so motivated can organize one.
For September I plan to pick a date for a meetup that will be the week after Drupalcon Paris. Obviously we will want some time to discuss developments at Drupalcon, but we could potentially have another focus as well. Please comment if you have suggestions or are willing to present something.
Past suggestions for topics can be found at: http://groups.drupal.org/node/20931

If someone is looking for an opportunity to help, we need some quotes for a caterer to provide lunch. I would plan on 80 people.
Is anyone willing to take this on? Maybe you could post your findings here?
Thanks!

Central PA Open Source Conference
Just wanted to post this conference:
I submitted a talk about Drupal. I talked about Drupal last year. It is a really good conference, attracted a lot of good talks. If you are semi local consider coming, and/or submitting a talk. It is October 17th in downtown Harrisburg.
