A Drupal meetup in Old Town Pasadena! The meetup will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011 from 7-9pm. Everyone is invited. Please bring laptops and chargers if you would like to follow along. There will be time for discussion and job announcements.
Please RSVP by signing up below so we know how many to accommodate. Depending on the turn out we may need people to bring chairs. If you can't attend this month's meetup but would like to come to one in the future, we will be hosting meetups on the first Monday of each month.
Address: 1 S Fair Oaks Ave., Suite 202, Pasadena, CA 91105
Parking: There is free parking after 8pm if you can find a spot on the street. There is also a parking garage across the street. First hour and a half is free and $2/hour after that.
As the other meetups say- "Attending Drupal meetups is one of the best ways to meet and talk with other Drupaleros and we encourage you to attend as many meetings as you can..."
Join us afterward for a Drupal After Dark.

Drupal Internals: The Secrets of the settings.php file
My lightning talk version of the settings.php file presentation I did tonight was really rushed I wouldn't mind doing it again but with more time. Let me know if there's any interest and I'll give it another go in Pasadena.
Sounds good
I'll second that
That will be very
That will be very interesting. Add my vote in.
All in Favor say AYE
It was just getting interesting when you had to stop last night, so I definitely am up for this!

I'll be representing the SGV
I'll be representing the SGV and attending this meetup! Probably the only one I'll be able to come to in a while (I normally have a Monday conflict), but hey, one day at a time.
I'd like to learn more Drupal 7 stuff, for what it's worth.

Drupal after Dark
Do we have a location picked for Drupal after Dark?
Intelligentsia Pasadena
At past meetups, we've gone to the Intelligentsia that's a few doors down. They have a small food menu (I recommend the lasagna cupcake), excellent coffee and a beer & wine menu. They occasionally have collaborative beer made by the Eagle Rock Brewery that's brewed with Intelligentsia coffee.
If anyone is more familiar with the area, I'm open to alternatives. If we have a huge turnout (like we did the last time I was at the Pasadena meetup), it might be good to have a backup venue that can accommodate 15-20 people easily.
Intelligentsia is great.
Intelligentsia is great. There is also a great pub less than a block away called Lucky Baldwins. They have some great Belgium beers. Their upstairs can usually accomodate 20 people and their downstairs would be great for smaller groups.
Anyways, just an idea for an alternative.

Lucky Baldwin's is great
It's an old staple in the Pasadena community & has great atmosphere. Always rated as one of SGV's best bars in Citysearch.com's yearly Best of the Best.

Great sounds like we have a plan for Drupal After Dark
Great sounds like we have a plan for Drupal After Dark. We can just decide when the meeting starts whether Intelligentsia or Lucky Baldwins fits the size of the group. And since both are walking close, it makes it easy.
Old town has tons of places...
Didn't intelligentsia kick us out at 10 last time? Lucky Baldwins is great but it's also kind of loud sometimes. I'm not sure what it's like on a Monday though. Another good place Is Barney's LTD, not Barney's beanery though that's also I'n old town. I might have a little bias im favor toward Barney's LTD because I'm on their Beer drinkers hall of fame wall :) But it is more of a restaurant than a pub vs lucky Baldwins thats more of a pub than resurant.
How for is Barney's LTD from the meetup?
TimeFor, how for is Barney's LTD from the meetup? Is it walking distance?
OOPs posted to soon
Did not mean to cut off discussion of Drupal After Dark locations. All the places sound good to me, any more ideas?
HTML5 and Drupal
After Christefano's settings.php file presentation, if there is time, I would like to do 10 minutes or so on the status of HTML5 in general and how in fits in with Drupal 7 and Drupal 8.
I'd love to hear about this.
I'd love to hear about this. Let's talk before the meetup starts about how much time we'll devote to our respective presentations.
Great!
See you there a little before 7:00.
Chairs and Passcode
Can we get a few volunteers to bring chairs? That would help out tremendously! We would be happy to carry them up to the office if anyone needs help.
Also, in case someone isn't at the front door to let you in the passcode is #8546.

There's an accident on the 110, so a few of us will be coming in late.
I'm planning to record the Drupal Internals presentation.
Thanks for the meetup, everyone!
Thanks for the meetup, everyone! We had great presentations from Stew-bee and Darlene, and I personally had a lot of fun at the After Dark at Intelligentsia and the After After Dark at Lucky Baldwins.
