Intergrating Dreamweaver CS5 into your Drupal workflow

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

I am posting this idea to see if there is any interest in a Dreamweaver + drupal preso? The focus would be how to intergrate DW into your workflow, how this will help speed up your workflow plus more benefits. Looking at the css, theming and php and js abilities as it relates to drupal. Looking at the database connectivity within Dreamweaver to extend the useability could possibly be a second topic.

I would be willing to present a demo in May (westside meeting) if there is interest.

I have it...it's unused...so sell it to me!

Don't know if I can make it to the May meetup, but the presentation would certainly be interesting. Why, it would appear that I actually have Dreamweaver even! Maybe your presentation would encourage me to, umm, use it? At least sometimes. Cuz I fail to see how anything could be better than Vim :)

+1 for me

When I heard you mention that you could see changes and MAKE UPDATES to the database, theme and css all through the current version of Dreamweaver I immediately wanted to learn more. I have Dreamweaver CS4, but if the newer version is as cool as it sounds, I'll upgrade.

I realize some people are not too crazy about software that isn't open-source. But if a tool is really great, I think we can all agree it is worth looking at, even if it is just for inspiration. For example, I think some of GIMP's best features were cribbed from Photoshop.

I give this talk a big Plus One. And I just wish it could happen in April.

Editor shootout?

I'm always interested in seeing the tools that people use. I think I might be cool to have a couple small presentations about text editors that are being used for Drupal development.

I'm interested, but I

I'm interested, but I currently am using CS4. Would it be helpful still?

Sounds interesting.

While currently I own Dreamweaver I primarily use Coda, because of the clutter and it 'seems' that it does not integrate with Drupal well. While there is a Drupal extension for DW i believe it might be outdated.

I would love to see someone

I would love to see someone demonstrate how DW speeds up the Drupal workflow?

Here's a few videos of Dreamweaver and Drupal

I have been presenting for years about this topic. Here's some videos on Adobe's website (one or two are mine) about using Dreamweaver with Drupal. http://tv.adobe.com/search/?q=drupal

And some articles:

And of course, I use Dreamweaver in my video training series on Lynda.com - http://tinyurl.com/theme-drupal

Love to see a Dream Weaver Presentation

Benno Sebastian's picture

Hi Chris,
Thanks for posting the resources. I love to see how Dream Weaver and Drupal work together. I know there are a number of people in the community who are also interested in a presentation like that. May be next time we meet at Oversees.
Thanks Benno

DWCS5 and Drupal compatibility

theliondog's picture

I have DWCS5 (version11 build 4993) and had difficulty finding dynamically related files in Drupal 7.
There are a couple of fixes http://drupal.org/node/1027606 and a slightly different one from Adobe http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/888/cpsid_88838.html which work fine in finding the dynamically linked files - BUT cause DWCS5 to crash when saving css edits.
Have tried to contact Adobe to see if they have a solution to no avail. A couple of the Drupal posts have said CS5.5 fixes this, but I don't believe you should be required to upgrade to fix a Adobe bug.
Any suggestions greatly welcomed. Thanks in advance
