I see we don't have any

I see we don't have any scheduled presentation for next weeks meeting. I'm willing to do a session on views 2, now that its reached its full release.

we've just been slow at updating meeting because we've been in wait-and-see mode on a potential presenter to get back to us. Views 2 sounds like a good beginner / intermediate topic. So does digital dollhouse. We've also been talkin with Karl Scheirer of Achieve Internet to come do a presentation on "How to Build Your First Drupal Module" - and I think we've locked down John De La Cruz to give a talk on Drush.

have your people call my people. ;-)

its still in flux, but the current schedule snapshot looks something like this... (we'll firm up in the coming days) :

Beginner / Intermediate Topics

  • Digital Dollhouse - OVERVIEW & LAUNCH (20min): Christefano / Lee
  • Views 2 (40min): Blake

Int -> Advanced Topic

  • Drush (~30min) - drush.module itself doesn't provide any actual tools or commands - but it's still amazingly cool! showing us why and how to do some cool tricks John De La Cruz

Definitely get Karl if you can

If you can get Karl to present, do it. His "My First Module" talk is excellent, and comes with a downloadable package of files so you can follow along at home. Cool!

Sweet! I Love Views 2

OpenChimp's picture

I just started a project working with D6 this week, so it's my first hands on experience working with Views 2. It's totally awesome. I can't wait to hear some of Blake's tips, which have always proved very useful to me in the past.

Digital Dollhouse demo and case study

christefano's picture

Lee and I are up for doing a demo and case study of Digital Dollhouse, the project we've been working on for the past 6 months. We're officially launching at midnight tonight!

Nice work!

The site looks great and has a LOT going on. Definitely will make for a great LA Drupal session but also an interactive case study for the Drupal Dojo learning and mentoring group. If interested, just add to this list and we'll make that happen.

Sorry, this doesn't have much to do with the original topic but great work Chris. Digital Dollhouse looks really good. Congrats on the launch.

Presenting My Website Mockups

chairman_tap's picture

Hey Everyone,

I don't know if there will be time, but if possible I'd like to get feedback from the community on the language resources review website that I'm building. I finally realized that it's not good to design and plan things in a vaccuum, so I really wanted present the mock ups I came up with and see what people thought before I started building this website in Drupal. It shouldn't take long, 10 minutes at most. Just want to see what people think and what pointers they might have. If you could squeeze me in that would be great. Thanks!

let me know where to view the site
