TinyMCE, IMCE, Inline images. Best practices?

I've been trying to come up with a suitable solution for inline images for a while now without a ton of success. I'm sure you have had a client who wants to be able to insert images inside the main area of their text. Generally, I try to steer clients in the direction of using CCK fields for content images, but given the fixed nature of this approach, it doesn't work well for longish' tutorials with screen shots. Writers that use Drupal will often times want to use wysiwyg to get their uploaded images into the content above or near the focus of the topic.

Anyone going to NTEN's conference?

Hey all, we just joined NTEN a couple months ago. Is anyone from Philly going to their conference in April? Have you been before? What are they like? Thanks for any info. Sorry I can't make the meetup this week--I really enjoyed the one last time!

Philadelphia Drupal MeetUp - February 17th

Start:
2010-02-17 06:30 - 09:00 America/New_York
Event type:
User group meeting

Please join us at Zivtech HQ for our February Drupal MeetUp. As usual we'll have pizza and beer and we'll split into two groups (beginners upstairs in the lounge, non-beginners in the main area), but unlike last time we'll have plenty of chairs, and we'll probably remove the tables in the main area to make room for more people.

If there are any subjects people would like covered in the non-beginner group please speak up, otherwise we'll just do a show-and-tell like last time.

Any firms offering 24hr diagnostics and recovery?

I'm grappling with a discussion about the costs of supporting drupal vs. proprietary solutions. Some say that there are steep hidden costs in supporting Drupal, and that a proprietary solution is cheaper overall because it comes with that guarantee of up time, and packaged support.

Philadelphia February Meetup?

Anyone want to host the February Meetup? I had a great time at the last one at Zivtech and would love to go to another one this month. There were over 40 people at this last one so I know there is high demand for more frequent Meetups.

Would a library be able to offer meeting space?

Drupalcamp planning at Jan 14 meetup

The date for the next Philly "Drupaldelphia" Drupal camp is tentatively May 14 at the University of the Arts.

This time we want to give folks much more advance notice and opening up registration ASAP. With that in mind, those who are organizing /would like to join in should come to the Philly meetup on Jan 14. We'll break into a separate meeting from the rest of the group for an hour or so and do some planning and get the website ready for a new round of registrations.

Let's have a January meetup.

January 14th 6:30pm at Zivtech office: 32 S. Strawberry St., Philadelphia (near 2nd and Chestnut)

I think the format we had last time was basically good: Drupal beginners can break off into a separate group to get some beginner direction and more advanced people can use the projector to show off nifty things. Meanwhile we'll drink some beers and eat pizza.

Is there any interest in a November meetup, or will it be too hard to schedule due to holidays? Cheers,

Central NJ Drupal meetup October 8

Start:
2009-10-08 19:00 - 21:00 America/New_York
Organizers:
Event type:
User group meeting

The October 2009 Central New Jersey Drupal meet-up will be held on the campus of Princeton University. While we will be open to discussing all Drupal-related topics, we'll have a focus for this time on using revision control software. We will discuss using CVS to get or deploy Drupal core or contributed modules from Drupal.org. In addition we will discuss the use of subversion (svn) as a tool for managing your own custom code and for deploying custom code or the Acquia Drupal distribution.

We will mostly use the command-line tools, but also take a quick look at using them via an IDE like NetBeans. We'll try to make this hands on, so it will be useful to have these programs installed on your computer or a remote computer you can access.

The meet-up is being co-sponsored by the "Princeton Unix Users' Group" (an undergraduate student group).

We will meet in the Rockefeller residential college classroom (in Madison hall), which is near the corner of Nassau St. (route 27) and University Place in downtown Princeton. The classroom is reached by going through the Holder Hall courtyard to the entrance that leads to the Rockefeller College common room and dining hall. The exterior of this door is labeled "Rockefeller College Office". Immediately inside this door are stairs leading up to the classroom above.

Fellow Media Moguls,

We're shaking off the dust from the Media module, which was sadly neglected during the heady Summer of Code, where we got Stream Wrappers into core! I'm excited to meet now with my fellow Drupalistas, and get the module presentable for Drupal 7 (and Drupal 6, if anyone is interested in helping on that front).
