Multiple Job titles with Department's List

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

Hello guys!!!

I need help/ideas. I have set up departments in a community site with taxonomy terms: Board of Directors, Traffic Department, Gardening.... And I have users that I refer to the terms to assign them to their departments.

Two problems:
1. Each member can be in multiple department.
2. Member can hold different Job at each department he is in.

For now I have created a node type that has term reference, user reference and the text field for Job title. It means that I need to create new such node for each user as many times as he holds Job positions. Then I can display departments in the view.

Any ideas of doing it easier?

No Open Group suggestions please - too complicated for my admins.

Thanks!!!!

I dont know if understand the issue at hand exactly, but would making a Text select list for the user content type and listing out each individual job on that list make your life easier or more difficult? You can filter by the specific text list field in views.

Is this in D7?

You could potentially take a look at using field collection (or if you're using D6, CCK dev which has the multigroup option). Alternately (also for D7), you can look at the inline entity form module.
