I'd like to test the waters about putting together a second Westside meetup each month. I propose having 10 minute training sessions actually showing how you put together what you're doing (not a discussion) (sitebuilding, theming or module building) for 2 or 3 hours. Anyone could sign up to present, and the presentation schedule would be posted that day so you could choose which presentations you'll like to see. Perhaps putting together an exposed view, or adding classes in Display Suite, or when to use a theme preprocessor, or an example of Twig in 8, or writing a module to put AJAX into your display, or how to add an image effect in image styles, or what "enterprise" means in Drupal, so on. Just share your experience and things that you have come across that you use in your sites.
The venue would be a meeting room at Westside Pavilion at Westwood and Pico. There's ample parking (3 hrs free), many places to eat before and drink afterward, and areas to go out and have informal discussions either about a presentation or sharing/troubleshooting topics.
There's a $100 fee for the room, and I would ask for donations of $5 and if necessary foot the rest of the fee.
Please share your thoughts about whether this would be something you'd like to attend.
Personally, I want a meetup where I walk away having learned something and have more opportunities to interact with others knowledgeable in a topic.

This sounds great. If there's anything that any of the Greater Los Angeles Drupal organizers can do, please do let us know.
If you're interested, we have a list of assets and resources that you're welcome to use to improve your meetup:

We also have a great meeting space about 2 miles away that's at the Westfield Century City Mall in case you'd like to move it from the Westside Pavillion. That venue is free and has many places to hang out afterward.
