About Greater Los Angeles Drupal

With several weekly and monthly events, the Greater Los Angeles Area is one the most active areas for Drupal in the world.

Formerly named "Downtown Los Angeles Drupal", we've been meeting regularly in and around Downtown Los Angeles, California, since early 2010, and now organize a large number of events in the area. Our signature events include the Drupal Job Fairs and the Downtown Drupal, Frontend Drupal and High Performance Drupal meetups.

Our members and organizers have produced hundreds of Drupal events, including job fairs, meetups and workshops, conferences, paid trainings, coworking days, study group sessions, movie outings, FREE tutoring sessions from Drupal professionals, and website barnraisings to benefit non-profits and members of our community.

Attending Drupal events in the Greater Los Angeles Area is one of the best ways to meet and talk with other Drupaleros and we encourage you to attend as many meetings and special events as you'd like. Whether it's to find solutions to problems you've been having, sharing something you've learned or just meeting interesting like-minded people, the Greater Los Angeles Drupal events are an essential resource for Drupal professionals and hobbyists alike.

If you aren't already a member of Greater Los Angeles Drupal, it's easy to join our community. Our community calendar is on our "Events" tab on our home page at http://groups.drupal.org/node/219129

The WiFi link at Sensis was having problems so this meetup has the unusual distinction of featuring two simultaneous events: a physical, in person meetup at Sensis and the virtual meetup on WebEx.

I don't know how the experience was at Sensis, but our parallel meetup was awesome! We talked specifically about changes in Drupal 8 and the associated learning curve, our upcoming GLADCamp conference (including the non-profit summit and first-ever Extreme Drupal Games), how ICANN is using Drupal multisite, and devops workflows for server-specific config files (like .htaccess and settings.php).

Report from Sensis

First I would like to thanks Sensis and James for hosting the meetup. We had a WiFi issue so could not join Webex. Walk talked about Gladcamp, the barnraising, the non-profit summit, the Extreme Drupal Games, volunteering, sponsorship, and submitting a session proposal. We also talked about Drupal 8. But most of the time was spent in group discussion. We had 6 different people either ask a question, which the group answered, or give a little talk on what they were working on. For example I talked about the message stack.

Awesome! thanks for the news,

Awesome! thanks for the news, Stew. Were there any job announcements? Also, please let me know if anyone carpooled so that they get reimbursed for parking.

Any time there's a WiFi issue, we can still call in by regular phone to the WebEx meeting. I don't want to take credit for portending the WiFi problems but I posted the call-in info at https://groups.drupal.org/node/404308#comment-1009678 :)
