Chris Charlton, manager of LA AIR, will cover an open source solution
used for wiring Flex/Flash/AIR apps with popular back end servers like
PHP/MySQL. This technology is not limited to PHP/MySQL, similar gateways
exist for Java, Ruby, .Net, and Coldfusion, so much of what to take away
is the understanding and learning the Flash-world's lingo for interacting
with data.

Chris Charlton is an upcoming author for the Friends of ED book "AdvancED
Flex Applications - Building the Rich Media X" released this Dec. Besides
managing a large Adobe user group for Flex/AIR professionals, he also is
involved with other L.A. tech-related communities, Architect at
Almer/Blank, faculty member at the Rich Media Institute, and an authorized
Adobe Flex Champion.

The parking you are directed to is at the south east corner of
the mall three levels up. Enter from Overland just south of
the mall.

From 405 Freeway North or South, go 10 East - see 'From 10" below.
From 10 East or West, exit at Overland, turn into the parking
structure just before the mall onto the "Express Ramp". Exit
the second driveway (not the roof, but the top of the south
parking structure) and park near the doors to the food court.

Community Room A is behind the main food court along the main
corridor to the south and then east of the rest rooms.

FROM the Mall's West End - Community Room C (the old location):
Walk east the entire length of mall, through Nordstorms if it is
open (at 10am), otherwise go down and cross Westwood Blvd in
the crosswalk, then go to the third floor and the food court.
