Hi Everybody,
We had rain last Wednesday so we are starting on Wednesday October 13th at 7pm. I guess it is save to say that we meet every Wednesday unless it rains or there is a general LA Drupal meeting going on that day.
We now have a Drupal 7 beta release and the critical issues are down to 7 today.
Our first presentation will be by Christefano. The title is "Download your site from Drupal Gardens. Add some modules that are not available on Drupal Gardens yet. Views, Rules, and Commerce. Install everything locally and see where the pitfalls are"
This whole thing could be more then one session. We will see how it goes. Everybody is welcome. RSVP is required. We have limited space. Approximately 15 people more or less. I will have some chips, dip, water, Coronas and BBQ Chicken. Bring something for the BBQ or a side dish. As far as parking. The residential street I am on has restricted parking. I have two parking passes for parking right in the front of the house. First come first serve. There is plenty of parking around the area just one or two blocks away. I will post a map once we have our RSVP's together.
I am looking forward to see everybody for a happy eat, drink and Drupal7.

RE:Hollywood Drupal - Ride from Santa Monica? (out of towner)
I will be in Santa Monica all week and would love to attend. My only problem is transportation. Can anyone provide a ride from Santa Monica? Maybe I can take a bus closer to someone with a car? Or maybe a ride back to Santa Monica after?
I live in Chicago and can return the favor in March if planning to attend Drupalcon. Trade a ride on Wednesday for a tour of Chicago in March? :)

Hollywood Drupal Oct. 20 canceled due to possibe rain
We had a great start to Hollywood Drupal Wed Oct 13. Cristefano gave a presentation on Drupal 7 (alpha 6). We learned that there were some compatibility issues with drush. We will find out if those issues are solved with the new beta version. We also set up a projector. Thanks to Peter Benjamin. That worked out really well. Unfortunately the chicken was a little too well done. Too fascinated with the presentation. I forgot all about it. We had 2 special guest from out of town. (Chicago and Belgium) And the after party was at The Cat and Fiddle on Sunset Blvd.
This week Wednesday Oct. 20th we will skip the meeting due to weather. I am hoping to resume our Drupal 7 explore on Wed. Oct 27th. Thank you for your participation. Here is a link to the pics we made.

I had a great time but the Drupal Gardens presentation was unfortunately timed. It turns out that Acquia was performing updates during the meetup and many sites were malfunctioning. The resultant site export was broken, too.
