SANDcamp Rooftop Party // Hotel Rooms
We've had two great meetings so far and it's not too late to join the planning group for SANDcamp!
Working through the HOC and BPOC and the San Diego Convention Bureau (free service) we've come up with these venues that meet our budget criteria of less than $150/night. The other vendor was Hard Rock but it's a sexually-charged environment and didn't feel it was appropriate for a business event.

Read moreAdding code to preprocess-html.inc
I am trying to add the taxonomy term-tid on current node as class to the body element using the preprocess-html.inc with no luck any help will be appreciated.
As explained on README.txt I added the preprocess-html.inc file also the code inside a function named MYTHEMENAMEHERE_alpha_preprocess_html
I already got the term-id also the code for adding new element to $variables['body_classes'][] = drupal_html_class( "taxonomy-term-". $taxonomy_term );
I can see the value if echo array $variables['body_classes'] but no class shown on body attribute when page rendered.
Best Regards

It was really great to meet everyone in North County San Diego DUG last night!
I spoke about http://drupal.org/project/pft as, among other things, an exercise in a) Panels everywhere; and b) an "everything in code" lifecycle process based, not on features, but rather on straight up installation profile and exportables. I also explained that today I am in favor of a more balanced approach based on installation profile and sequenced updates, on the one hand, and a disciplined structured use of features especially for such things as content types/entities and fields.

Read moreWhy Theme SANDcamp?
Someone asked me about the military-media theme and thought this explanation would be helpful. The idea of theming the camp was Valerie's (graphic design volunteer from last year), we just were too far into the planning to get that going. But she was definitely correct from a marketing and branding perspective.

I find that volunteering is tricky since we all have finite time. I've created a list of camp tasks broken down by the amount of time one might expend between now and the end of January. This doesn't include meetings and pondering but it'll give you an idea of what to expect. Check it out and come to the kick-off meeting on Sunday. If you can't make the meeting, review the list and just let us know what you'd like to take on. Hopefully, by Sunday we'll have a good distribution of tasks. Thanks for the great energy!

Dear All:
Sunday, September 25 from 10am- 2pm // Coffee Bean in Mission Valley (Borders)
To help prepare for Sunday's SANDcamp planning meeting, here's a visual of what we undertook last year for SANDcamp and what we can anticipate to do again this year. Some interesting facts about major camps:
- Last BADcamp had about 550 folks signup (attendance was about half)
- This year it is already 953 with a month to go
- They don't charge so they can expect about a 30+% fall off but that makes their camp more than double in size from the previous year
Slides from the Entities presentation
Here are my slides (as a PDF).
Another really useful thing that the EntityAPI does for your entity is add integration with Views, Features, and Rules. I haven't played with these capabilities yet, but I'm sure it's easier than learning how to code to each of those modules' individual APIs.

Read moreIs BADCamp 2011 the largest FREE Drupal event in the world?
Absolutely, and it's exciting! BADcamp 2011 had over 500 people register in the first week alone. Currently over 860 people have registered, we're six weeks away, and rumor has it there's enough space for many more.
