Themes + Panels 3

As you might have noticed, there's a new 2.x-dev branch out of Acquia Marina that includes layouts and styles for Panels 3 among other things: http://drupal.org/node/472094

We'd particularly love to hear from anyone who has tried out this new feature.

For those in the Bay Area who are interested in this topic, we'll be discussing Panels 3 theming at BADCamp this Saturday afternoon: http://badcamp.net/session/theming-panels-3

Zero Point: a new theme based on Acquia Marina

At least it sure looks like it's based on Marina :) Saw this one the other day that appears to be a really nice derivative, with even more settings and things like colour scheme options! http://drupal.org/project/zeropoint

Anyone tried it out yet?

Drupal Design Shop's & D7

Hi Drupallers,

Anyone know companies in ireland that have expertise in designing & implementing drupal themes? Also I realise its an open ended question but any feedback as to what a design could cost would be useful as well?

I know D7 is a still a bit off but how difficult is it expected for a template implementation to go from D6 to D7?
What was it like going from D5 to D6 for example.

Theme configuration for Primary Links Tabs

This might be a Zen-theme specific issue, so forgive me if that is the case.

If I want to make the Primary Links block not appear, then I do so from the "Blocks" page. But to make the items in "Primary Links" not appear as tabs at the top of the page, then I do so from the in "Toggle Display" section of the the Administer-->Site Building-->Themes-->Configure page.

Need advice

Hi all,
For a recent medical journal from uk [bjmp.org], I have created a subtheme based on Acquia Marina and everything is working ok except the lower end of "content" border appears broken. I want the main content window to also have a border like the sidebar blocks and have added the relevant code of blocks into the page.tpl.php

Not sure how to proceed further.
The only files that have been changed in subtheme folder is
1) page.tpl.php
2) style.css

Accessibility documentation for themers

Lee has asked for some docs for the Best Practices section of the Theming Guide (http://drupal.org/node/341707).

I made a start a couple of weeks ago but it would be good to get some feedback on what we think should go into this.

I'm tending to think it should be pretty high level, but with enough depth and examples so a themer can pretty much get the basics right without having to go to an external resource, but with links to external resources with additional information.

How to Create Multiple Front Pages for different categories of News ?

Hi,

I want to make a theme that can display the same front page theme layout for some categories/links .

For instance the site will have News categories like local, national, international, business, etc. Each menu link to these should display the same home front page format. And news promoted to front page to these categories should move to the corresponding front pages.

Any ideas, inputs to achieve this will be highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

Mansoor

Artisteer - Wysiwyg Drupal Theme Creator

I've been evaluating Artisteer, a wysiwyg theme building program that runs on Windows, and I am impressed. With no theme or even HTML/CSS knowledge, you can build a usable design for Drupal, as well as WordPress, Joomla, or just a straight HTML/CSS site very quickly.

One feature I found particularly useful is the 'Ideas' menu, which will suggest random designs for you at the push of a button - either the entire theme, or just portions of it like blocks or header. Very useful to get started with, and then you can start tweaking the details.
