Did you miss Drupalcon? If so roll to the Ninjitsu Web Development office on the 5th floor (Directions, parking is plentiful in the neighborhoods, but be sure to check the signs) for a brief recap. I will be sharing my notes from attending a mix of themer/coder sessions.

As announced on the Drupal.org front page at http://drupal.org/node/1068664, the groups.drupal.org front page at http://groups.drupal.org/node/129624 and at the Drupal meetups in and around Los Angeles this month, Drupal.org will be going down for scheduled maintenance today for approximately 12 hours. The official announcement is included below.

The next Santa Barbara Drupal meetup is on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at 6:30pm. We are meeting at the offices of RightScale, located at 136 West Canon Perdido St., Santa Barbara, CA 93101. Join us!

This event is free and no RSVP is required, but if you plan to attend please sign up by clicking the "Sign up" button on our event announcements there. Knowing how many people are interested in attending can help us better select good locations in the future. People who sign up will also have last minute details (if there are any) sent to them before the meeting.

Our next LA Drupal meetup on the Westside is on January 25, 2011 at the corporate headquarters of at Media Temple in Culver City, CA. The meetup begins at 7:30pm but the doors open a little earlier at 7pm.

If you'd like to give a presentation, announce a job position or ask any questions of the group, please leave a comment below and plan to come a few minutes early. If presenting, be sure to bring your laptop (and power and display cables) and whatever else you need.

This event is free - in fact, there will be raffle prizes and food and drinks will be provided - and no RSVP is required. Those who sign up, however, will have last-minute details (if there are any) sent to them before the meeting. Southern California Linux Expo, or SCALE, is the premier Open Source conference in the U.S., now in its 9th year! If you're looking to learn, you can choose talks from the developer's track, the new sysadmin track, the beginner track, or one of the two general interest tracks.

If you're interested in chatting with the exhibitors, you'll be able to to wander the Expo floor, with over 80 booths of open source folks eager to talk to you.

The monthly Inland Empire Drupal meetup will be held on Thursday, February 10 from 7-9pm. This is a free event and everyone is invited - we have a large venue with plenty of space so if you're in the area please join us! If you'd like to follow along just bring your laptop / charger.

Just wanted to drop you a note and let you know that I'm coming to LA as part of the Drupal 7 tour I'm doing with Lullabot. We'll be at the Four Points by Sheraton hotel on January 21st and 22nd. It's a 2-day seminar aimed at getting Drupalers up to speed on Drupal 7. We'll be covering new features, configuration, theming, module development, API changes, and upgrading your sites to Drupal 7. Now that D7 is out, we want to make sure that you don't get left behind. By the end of this seminar, you'll be ready to start building sites with the latest and greatest version of Drupal.

If you're planning on going to DrupalCon in March, this seminar will help you get more out of the event by getting you up to speed with the version of Drupal that everyone will be talking about. If you won't be making it to Chicago, this is a great way for you to keep up with Drupal without needing to travel.
