Site about Web development, based on learning research
Hi,
I'm creating a site to help people learn how to be a Weber, that is, someone who gets paid to do Web work.
The site's design is informed by learning research, particularly constructivism and phenomenography. That's where the site's value proposition comes from: lessons designed to help humans learn effectively and efficiently.
I wrote a short document on the design, showing how I derived the design by joining learner goals and learning theory. If anyone's interested, I'd like to get some feedback on the ideas. The site is still very much a work-in-progress.

I wanted to let the group know that today Street Roots did their hard launch of our community project, the Rose City Resource site. Since we went live in March, Israel (SR director) and I have been tweaking, configuring, and adding (with the continued support of the dev team, thank you).
You can pick up a copy of today's Street Roots to find an article on page 3. Israel is holding a stack of papers for us so if you're not able to pick one up, let me know and I'll send one to you if you want. :)

Notify using a node of new registrations
Hi, I'm setting up a community driven site, where many of the events are managed by the community members, including registration. So, just to simplify the idea, every time a user registers an account in the site, a poll is created and members vote to approve or decline the application. Currently application form is no more than a set of cck fields in a specific content type. This node is created in the "applications forum", so members can cast their votes.
Now, the question is, should this kind of functionality require a single module or not?
I've found several approaches here..

However, couple weeks into the project I realized that Drupal could've saved me so much time and would've been much more reliable. If only someone mentioned Drupal to me at the right moment...
