Estoy desarrollando Bootiga, un SaaS para crear tiendas con Drupal Commerce listas para usar en menos de 5 minutos.

La idea es simplificar todo el setup inicial y evitar gran parte de la configuración técnica/devops cuando quieres lanzar o probar un ecommerce con Drupal.

Ahora mismo está en fase beta y estoy buscando gente de la comunidad que quiera probarlo y dar feedback.

Por ahora incluye:
• instalación automática de Drupal Commerce
• entornos listos para usar
• templates reutilizables
• despliegue rápido para testing y desarrollo

July is a month to celebrate Drupal! Why? - do we need a reason?
While the regular monthly meetup is resuming in August, we felt that July needed a good reason to get together and talk Drupal code and config.

There is a mission to build a Drupal as a Service full featured distribution of Drupal for organizing and campaigns. There is NationBuilder and other proprietary tools that are available, but why not a Drupal solution?

RESOLVED:

I have a customer who wants to build a SaaS platform that they would like their customers to subscribe to and create and collaborate content, publish, launch email campaigns and track the campaigns. am wondering if we can take Drupal and build modules on top of it and host it as a SaaS service?

I understand the code that we build has to be under the Drupal GPL norms. But does the GPL support this kind of a business model?

Is it possible to sell an online service (SaaS) that is based on Drupal without being forced to distribute my PHP module source code?

Anyone have any SaaS sites they want to showcase?

Interesting Modules they want to post that helped get their application going?

I want to launch a new startup with the objective of developing an enterprise SaaS tool for Asset Management.

I have been testing Drupal7 for the past few months and I believe it makes sense to use it for building this tool, and I am looking for co-founders with Drupal experience (developers and designers).

Drupal Gardens is Acquia's Drupal 7 SaaS product.

Hosted and maintained Drupal - similar to Wordpress.com

It is promising, but is it ready for commercial use? There are already 10K+ DG sites!

Limitations such as no Calendar/Event modules are restricting its use, but it will surely grow in its capabilities in time.

If someone uses Drupal to build a custom "software as a service" web app (an example mght be basecamp [http://basecamphq.com/]), is there any way to prevent a competitor from getting acces to the custom code or configuration used to create it and starting a competing service?
