User accessable-uploads slideshows in Drupal 7?

A year + ago I ran across a slideshow module that allowed users (with permissions) to upload photos to any slideshow on a Drupal site.

I do not recall which one it is. Does anybody know of that module's name? I am pretty sure it was/is for D7.

Free Lullabot videos on setting up local Drupal web server on OS X, Windows, and Ubuntu

A frequent topic in our Drupal classes and meetups is 'how do I work on my Drupal site on my own computer?' Sometimes you want to work on a site locally, before you've chosen a web host provider, or because you're just trying out some new techniques. Local development can be faster and more convenient than remote development, and once you've got a local toolkit together you can really fly with it.

A few months ago we had a Drupal 'installfest' meetup where we helped folks get Drupal installed on their own computers, and we'll cover it in our upcoming Drupal in Depth class. But Lullabot just posted a free video series designed to get you up and running with your local Drupal environment, whether you're on Mac OS X, Windows, or Ubuntu Linux.

So check out Three Local Web Servers videos from the inimitable expatriate and longtime Drupal training star Addi Berry.

Auto subscriber new users (specific roles) to SimpleNews in Drupal 6

Hey all,

I am using Simple News in a Drupal 6 install.
I would like to create an 'auto subscribe' feature for specific roles (at least one for now) so that when someone
subscribes to the site for role 'X' they will automatically be subscribed to the newsletter.

In searches I found a PHP module someone built but it looks like it would auto subscribe anyone (regardless of role)
to the newsletter, not so good.

aic_mailer.module
<?php
/**
* Implementation of hook_user().
*
*/
function aic_mailer_user($op, &$edit, &$account, $category = NULL) {

Help Troubleshooting Calendar

I would really appreciate some help with getting calendar/date/views/ctools updated and working on my live site. I spent several days working on a test site (test.bitterrootpubliclibrary.org) and got everything updated and working. Here is the export for the test site's calendar: http://pastebin.com/s6sctf2y. I kept track of all I did and today tried to replicate it on my live site (bitterrootpubliclibrary.org). I got everything updated and fixed a few funky things, but when I tried to get the calendar working, I didn't have much luck.
