Welcome to the Drupal churches group. This is a group centered around building Church websites with Drupal and a point for members of The Church to go out into the Drupal community. In this group we discuss how to use Drupal, modules to use, integrating other services with Drupal, and the ins and outs of building Church websites.
The Drupal church community extends beyond this group. You can find more information and help in the IRC channel #drupal-churches on irc.freenode.org and on the Geeks and God podcast website.
We are looking for someone to support basic functionality of our modest church website. We will need occasional small upgrades and add-on features. We estimate an average of 5 hours of work per month for this contract work.
Please send responses to email@example.com with a short statement of your qualifications, references, a list of some URLs of sites you've worked on, and your fee schedule.Read more
Currently when someone puts a invalid username or passward in the the login form it only returns a red box around the username and password box. I am designing a site for a church that wants to display a message about the error. Is there a way someone can direct me how to do this?Read more
Our church is beginning a clothing ministry. I believe it would be helpful to have an online management system. I'm having difficulty in finding something.
Our church website is drupal, but I was hoping to find a (free) solution that we didn't have to manage or upgrade. Kind of line the online church management systems, only geared toward clothing ministries. I was thinking that some type of inventory management system might work.Read more
I'm in the process of converting our church from Servant Keeper to Shelby. I just got a bare database set up to play with, and it looks pretty slick.
I was wondering if any of you use Shelby and Drupal, and how you make them play well together. We're a small parish, so our needs aren't super-complex, but I'm interested in where you let one pick up from the other; which is the better tool for a given task.
I just found this group and thought I'd submit our Drupal site to the pool. We've been on Drupal since 2009 when I switched us over from DotNetNuke. I knew nothing about programming in PHP and enough to be dangerous with jQuery. We are constantly improving the site (of course) and I welcome your feedback.
Thanks and God bless you!

Could somebody please help me here - I've got a new church website coming up. It runs on a Fusion/Aquia Marina template, but the horizontal scrollbar is always showing, and you scroll really far...
This breaks the site on iPads etc.
I have looked and looked in the html but can't find any weird css.
I have posted questions in Fusion and Aquia Marina project pages, but no help there. So now I turn to you..!
The (still a test) site is at http://kristentf.openusource.com (it's in Danish in case you wonder).
Thanks in advance!
I'm trying to build a views slideshow (frontpage slider) that includes both images and youtube videos. I got it working, but when I click on the Youtube video to play it, the video starts playing then the slider moves to the next slide based on the amount of time set in the views slideshow settings (in this case 3 seconds). It doesn't allow the video to play in its entirety. I set the views slideshow to "pause on click" thinking that the "click" to play the Youtube video would pause the slideshow... no deal.Read more
I'm considering rebuilding our church's website, but haven't worked with audio much in Drupal. The most important resource on the site will be its sermon library. Considering the fact there will be a new 30-40 minute sermon on the site every week, I was hoping that experienced church website builders could give me an idea of how audio file storage affects how you approach site hosting, performance, etc...Read more

How have you solved the issue of Volunteer Scheduling in churches such that a volunteer is not scheduled into more than one spot at the same time? Whatever you use, does it have notification capability so that the a reminder can be sent out to the volunteer?Read more
I am trying to utilize organic groups for a group in my church. I would like this to be a private group and have members able to post content, comments, questions, etc.
I have it pretty much setup, however, in order to allow individuals to post content, I've had to give them permission to use the administrative toolbar. This caused me to create a new role (outside of OG).
Is there a better way to accomplish this? Am I really heading in the right direction?Read more
