Drupal Products

This group should probably have more organizers. See documentation on this recommendation.

Work done through professional services can be sold about 1.2 times.
Work done on products can be sold thousands of times.
Much of Drupal work is done in the context of professional services.
This group is about how to create and sell products. Organized after a BOF at DrupalConSF2010, it is organized to discuss creating and selling Drupal as a product or software as a service. We offer tips, tricks, and best practices. Who has tried this before? How did it work out?

Station Module Requirements

The purpose of this wiki page is to develop a list of functional requirements for the Station module as development proceeds. The list is divided into Must Haves, Nice to Haves, and Future Considerations. Please add your own station's requirements to the list under the appropriate category with your d.o username next to each that you agree with. Please consult the group before demoting any requirement.

When a general consensus direction is reached on each requiremnt, these can be turned into issues at the Station issue queue http://drupal.org/project/issues/search/station

Paying for the Plumbing: Snowball initiative for a Drupal crowdfunding platform

Ever wanted a place where you could simply offer to pay to get something you need in Drupal done?

Please donate to make that place. (Yes, it's using a different crowdfunding platform, one that really lacks features for coordination, but is passing on all money raised -- if we reach the minimum -- without even deducting credit card fees.)

And spread this link! http://tilt.tc/usLL Is there enough interest in community funding of Drupal software to fund the software to coordinate this-- in just a few days? Also, if you are available to work on this project in DrupalCon Denver, we've got a DrupalCon ticket for you! Or if you're interested in working on this later, contact me for that, too!

Drupal products summit

I'm considering organizing a Drupal products summit some time this fall. The main purpose of the meeting would be to create a knowledge sharing platform for Drupal shops/individuals that are working on a product: anything built with Drupal that has a repeatable business model (can be specialized services for Drupal shops, distributions, applications, websites built with Drupal that target a certain market segment).

The main practical outcomes I hope to achieve with this meeting are:

  • The creation of a workgroup that will build an ethical Drupal Application Store
  • Increase of knowledge about lean startup methodologies in the Drupal community
  • Strengthening the network of Drupal product companies and the creation of a mutual support community
