Droplabs and Exaltation of Larks would like to invite the LA Drupal and Drupal Fit communities to a Red Cross First Aid, CPR & AED certification training on October 15, 2011. This full day of training offers the following 2-year certifications: First Aid, Infant CPR, Child CPR, Adult CPR and Adult AED.
You can make a difference during the critical time between when 911 is called and the ambulance arrives. This professional training uses a combination of books, videos and hands-on exercises that will give you the knowledge and confidence you'll need in emergency situations.

Scholarship
We want as many people as possible to attend this training and we're offering a scholarship. To apply for the scholarship, click the Sign up button below and follow the instructions sent to you by email. You can apply on behalf of someone else. In exchange for the free training, you agree to write about your experience in the Drupal Fit group at http://groups.drupal.org/fit or on a personal blog.
Tuition
This event is open to the public and is $75 per person. That's almost 33% off the usual $110 that the LA Red Cross chapter charges. We will be using the class booklet as seen at http://editiondigital.net/publication/?i=64159 and hard copies of this booklet will be available for purchase at $10 each.
Exaltation of Larks is the fiscal agent for this event and 100% of the profits go to Jeanie Edwards, the Red Cross instructor. If you'd rather pay by cash or check, you can pay Jeanie the day of the training. Please make checks payable to Jeanie Edwards.
Refund policy:
Refunds are not given for no-shows.
Refunds are provided minus a 10% cancellation fee.
Refunds are not given if the cancellation is less than 24 hours before the start of the event.

Droplabs is in the Mission Junction neighborhood of Los Angeles at Big Art Labs, just 1 mile down Main St. from Philippes (the first-ever venue for LA Drupal meetups!) and Union Station. We're one block west of The Brewery, the largest live-and-work artists' colony in the world.
What to bring
There are no official eligibility requirements and prior medical knowledge is not needed. You only need to have the willingness to learn.
We share a large parking lot with Big Art Labs and there's plenty of free parking. After you pull into the parking lot, park to the left of the entrance and follow the signs to Droplabs.
Exaltation of Larks is providing coffee and snacks. Please bring your own lunch. If you want coffee, please bring a non-breakable cup.

I did this a few months ago for the full price at the local Red Cross and I am very glad I did. Thankfully I haven't had to use any of the skills I learned, but I feel good knowing I have the knowledge. I encourage all Drupallers to get First Aid, CPR and AED training.
