chx (Károly Négyesi) is coming to Los Angeles and he's asking the L.A. developers to bring it for what will be one of the final pre-d7 code freeze coding and testing sprints. There will be chocolate, and at some point beer.
Causecast has generously donated space in their Santa Monica offices.
Cherry Hill will provide refreshments.

Once we have a location, I'll post it as an event. I think that we'll have an average of 15 -20 folks at any time. Of course we could make it bigger, but that would require more organization.
Let's try to get a some heads together at Tuesday's LADUG.

camp on same weekend?
chris charlton & I have been talking this week - and he's waiting to hear back from another venue or two - but we were thinking august for camp. NOTHING is set in stone or planned,,, just some pre-planning,,, checking of venues, and schedules against other tech conferences and ideas on the chalkboard.
but august seemed like a good time so that we could run a sprint (similar to this) before code freeze before drupalcon paris. Im not sure which weekend he was looking for - and we were actually shooting for one LONG day - up early out late.

The key here is the sprint. While I think that chx might be up for a brief chat about the status of d7, I don't think that we want a situation where sprint participants are wandering in and out en masse to present or attend sessions.
I think that doing a one day unconference style camp along with the two day sprint is possible if we can find a suitable free (or almost free) location in Venice / SM / CC / West LA on that weekend. The date is based on chx' schedule and not negotiable.

I just checked back, and I am glad to see we have a venue. So is this going to become an event, then? Schedule: I need to be in Costa Mesa PAC Sunday 6:30PM Sunday. I am free for the rest of the time.
