Work-life balance can reduce stress and restore harmony to your life this is a fact. If you're feeling overworked and finding it more challenging than ever to juggle the demands of your job and the rest of your life, you're not alone. So LA Drupal is building downtime into your schedule with a casual networking event at Wine Expo.
Location:
Wine Expo (http://wineexpo.com)
7pm to 9pm (or until close)
2933 Santa Monica Blvd
Santa Monica, CA 90404
310-828-4428
At the Wine expo there is wifi, wine and beer flights, food (and food trucks usually), and a backroom where the networking will go down.
20/20 Nights Monday & Thursday
Taste from 20 diverse wines in a wide variety of styles for just $20 (exclusive of tax and tip) in our Bar. We will offer different choices every week so you can survey the multitude of new releases and old reliables we offer. They also offer beer flights as well if wine isn't your style.
You can check out more information on Yelp, http://www.yelp.com/biz/wine-expo-santa-monica.

Why was the meetup for this
Why was the meetup for this evening cancelled? Just curious. I was looking forward to attending.
Please clarify
Hey christefano this meetup is still going down nothing is cancelled. Are you talking about the post on meetup.com? If so please clarify otherwise people might assume the wrong thing. I didn't remove that post so I can't comment on that but roll thru tomorrow.
Glad to hear this is still
Glad to hear this is still going down. Yes, a message was sent from Meetup.com that this was cancelled but to keep an eye out for a Drupal After Dark. I guess that was erroneous. I see now that the meetup is at the usual time and is at Wine Expo. See you there!
Alas, it's my wife's birthday
Alas, it's my wife's birthday tonight, so I'll be missing what promises to be a most excellent gathering. Drink something tasty for me.
Which way did I go?
So this is the meetup for tonight, rather than the Santa Monica Library?

It was fun to just relax and get to know you all a little more :)
A Fine Time
This certainly was a fine time. I look orward to getting back into the meetups but for the time being this was a great opportunity to talk with people in a more relaxed setting. I think we should do this at least 2 times a year!
I threw out that I would like to present on the Drupal DOM object and the related methods that go with it like behaviors and settings. I am open to that for the next meetup so please let me know if there is time for that. I am coming from a place of having to rescue a few codebases over the past few motnhs that would have greatly benefited from this knowledge of both making re-usable js functions for a page (i.e. attachBehaviors) as well as not hacking core or jquery_update jquery.js in order to get an more recent version of jquery to do your bidding.
Look forward to seeing you all next month!
Next Meetup
@stevenator your presentation sounds really cool and interesting. I have also lately been working on rescue projects so maybe we can make it the theme of the next meetup. I can talk about using the hacked and security review modules and share my Drupal rescue project checklist.
Had fun at this meetup. Some
Had fun at this meetup. Some folks were interested in Acquia's TCO for Open-Source Publishing doc. Here's a link to it:
