Code Sprint & Community Coding Effort Goals

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

There has been expressed interest in the idea of holding a local Code Sprint, or any collective community coding session. Below you will see a list of "topics", or things people can task themselves to learn about together during our coding events or just if you want to help locally or globally with Drupal.

Note: There are wiki pages for Potential action items and agenda for LA Drupal '08 and What Meeting Topics We Should Cover?, so edit those if you feel what you want to add should be in there instead.

LA Drupal

  • Reboot of LADrupal.org
  • Re-design of LADrupal (Drupal theme; we need designers on this for at least colors, badges, theme design)

Drupal

  • Update handbooks (documentation). Fix things, edit, update, clarify, add sample links/code, etc. Help the docs!
  • Help resolve or at least respond to queued issues (bugs). Even if you can't code, please consider helping the support issues for your favorite modules like asking for more details, or help fixing people's broken English, stuff like that. Or, you may know how to resolve an issue that isn't a bug.
  • Write/Test SimpleTest tests for Drupal core. Are there any needed or left to do for Drupal 5/6/7?
  • Test Drupal core patches. (if any)

Drupal Contrib

  • Test popular and important non-core modules patches.
  • Help write documentation or code snippets for community modules. Share your insight.
  • Write SimpleTest tests for contributed modules.
  • Expand a community module, like, CCK, come up with good custom add-ons for CCK. Views, new good views that people may use, come up with a module that can be the next Views Bonus Mini-Pack. Make more useful services for the Services module.
  • Integrate Dimdim (http://www.dimdim.com/) free web conferencing service where you can share your desktop, show slides, collaborate, chat, talk and broadcast via webcam with absolutely no download required for attendees (more here).
