This is a local user group for sharing knowledge about Drupal and networking with other folks in the greater Seattle web/tech community.
SeaDUG meets monthly to talk about Drupal, to plan related events, and to socialize. During SeaDUG meetings we showcase modules and projects, share tips and tricks, and answer nagging questions about Drupal.
We welcome participants from all skill levels and all disciplines related to website building and development - marketers, project managers, developers, designers, writers, devops, user researchers, QA, and more.
Stay in Touch
- Join the SeaDUG Slack workspace to chat regularly with other SeaDUG community members.
- Follow us on LinkedIn for more frequent news and Drupal-related content sharing.
Jobs
PLEASE do not post job offers in this group unless they are local to Seattle, or remote and open to people who live in Seattle. Any job posted to this group that is not in the Seattle/Puget Sound Metropolitan Area or open to its residents will be promptly removed.

On Friday, May 9, I am giving an a talk about module development at DrupalCamp Vancouver. The first I gave this talk was a month ago for folks who were going to create a Drupal site the next weekend. module permissions for query?
Hi, can I add any custom functions to a module or, do they need to be registered in the menu system? I have some lookup routines that work fine for admin but are not called for anonymous users. I tried using the _underscore naming and that didn't allow them. template.php is in a different scope or something, nothing from there... Should they get added as menu_tasks? Thanks for any help

Now that the Drupal presence at LinuxFest Northwest is done (talks all day today!) Drupal Camp Vancouver is coming up in 2 weeks (Fri/Sat May 9/10). http://www.drupalcampvancouver.org/
I took at look at transportation options.
* The folks I talked to at LinuxFest today seemed to think a car would not be necessary once one got to Vancouver. Seems likely.
* The train station is 1.6 km or less from the Friday and Saturday locations of Drupal Camp
* I think the bus station is the same place (not sure).

I'm working on getting Linuxfest northwest arranged and we're wondering if anyone knows anyone who wants to video and broadcast for our room (103)
Let me know if you're interested: japerry@jademicrosystems.com -- and edit here if we're going to have the camera for 103
Thanks!

nodeaccess trouble
Has anyone been using the nodeaccess module in production? We've got it setup on our site but I'm having trouble getting grants to take.
I don't see what the pattern is but but after 'granting' a user view & edit permission, there's still no 'View| Edit' link.
I tried clearing the menu and other caches. This happens to be a section of the site that anonymous users are denied 'view.'

Node Import & UID assignment with email address
A new website will help Seattle startups find worksites for rent or lease. Initially, worksite information will be bulk entered with a customized Node Import module. One data import field will be email. A module modification is needed to assign UID with an email lookup. If a UID is not found, a stub user account automatically would be created as node owner. Once a worksite node is imported, an anonymous user, who owns the associated email, could claim ownership with a request for new password.
