Seattle

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

This is a local user group for sharing knowledge about Drupal and networking with other folks in the greater Seattle web/tech community.

SeaDUG meets monthly to talk about Drupal, to plan related events, and to socialize. During SeaDUG meetings we showcase modules and projects, share tips and tricks, and answer nagging questions about Drupal.

We welcome participants from all skill levels and all disciplines related to website building and development - marketers, project managers, developers, designers, writers, devops, user researchers, QA, and more.

Stay in Touch

Local Non-profits using CiviCRM?

I'm proposing to (volunteer to) develop a Drupal-CiviCRM site for a local non-profit. The staff seems convinced that Drupal is a good fit for the main site, but would like some reassurance on the CiviCRM part. I'd like to touch base with other local non-profits that have adopted CiviCRM--or contact local site developers to see if I can learn more about their clients' use of CiviCRM. Do you know of local non profits that have deployed CiviCRM for their contribution pages and internal donor tracking?

Thanks!

Clean URLs, question marks and civicrm

Hey folks,

I have been struggling with an issue on my drupal/civicrm site and thought I'd resort to asking my local community for help. I'm using Drupal 5, clean urls, and civicrm 1.9 (with a module created for Kabissa). Basically, I'd like to create url aliases for many key civicrm functions, and then create menu items to link to those url aliases. I am running into difficulties because drupal with clean urls doesn't recognize questionmarks and ampersands in URLs, and civicrm requires them to display correctly.

Download, extracting, installing modules through the drupal front end

Seemed to recall a conversation about three months back about using the front end in drupal to download/install modules
I did some searches and can't find anything relevant. I'm putting the workflow below, if someone knows of a module, let me know, otherwise I'll write one

these steps are all done through the front end in drupal
1. enter url of module.tar.gz file(or other compressed file type) you want to install
2. select installation directory (i.e. in the sites/all/themes, sites/default/themes, sites/all/modules, sites/mycoolsite/modules)
3. click submit

dww visit to tacoma/seattle area?

I might be coming to Tacoma sometime in February, and was wondering if anyone would be interested in trying to throw together a Drupal meetup of some sort while I'm in town. The dates aren't fixed yet, but I just thought I'd throw it out there to see if there's any interest.

Also, anyone have any leads on a place to crash while I'm in town?

DUG members interested in helping promote Instant Runoff Voting in Washington?

I've stuck my head into the IRV movement in Washington. The current web setup for IRV-Washington (IRVWa.org) needs a lot of help--it needs to move beyond it's Frontpage 6.0 roots.

I'm part of small group discussing a 'web retreat' weekend to migrate the web site to something more modern and maintainable. We're looking at the weekend of Jan 19/20.

I've been able to bootstrap a few Drupal sites, but I'm far from an expert. This is a great chance for local Drupal gurus to help with a great cause.
