Linux ETC is now having open enrollment for our upcoming Linux training classes ranging from "end users" to "mid-level systems administration". We are starting a new way of training which is self paced with mentoring. We are still offering our online classes as well, though focusing on "beginning systems administration" for the time being. These courses are also geared for those desiring and aiming for LPI certifications as a bonus.

I'm a longtime Chicago-based web professional who is looking to expand my Drupal knowledge and skills. Everything I've heard about learning Drupal points toward the need to establish a relationship with a mentor: someone who can point me in the right directions, tell me of best practices, and introduce me to all of the foibles of Drupal and its contributed Modules. So, I'm looking for an opportunity to work with an individual or team on a Drupal project where I can be eased into the process of implementing Drupal sites.

A local non-profit organization is in the process of planning and organizing a two-day event specifically for high school-aged young women that exposes them to various tech fields. One workshop will have attendees creating their own website using Drupal.

I want to let everyone know about a mentoring program that I'm organizing for a group of students that I'll be training over the next few months.

The tl:dr version is this: I run a 10-week, 70-hour Drupal training program in Brevard County, Florida (home of Kennedy Space Center) for recently laid-off residents. With the retirement of the Space Shuttle, there have been over 8,000 layoffs - many of these people are skilled IT workers looking for new careers.

I am totally new to Drupal and unsure how to set Drupal up in a way that makes sense for multiple non-profit orgs helping the poor and marginalized here in Columbia, Mo. I would like to connect with someone who can help me build up a stable Web presence such that multiple people can contribute to a site but it retains its "non-Drupal appearance" (at least to some degree) and allows for a singular editorial voice.

I'm a new Drupal user and as such, am trying to climb the steep learning curve to getting my site done (a simple family website, nothing commercial) the way I'd like. I do a lot of reading on the drupal website and have figured out a couple things, but I really am in need of some basic answers. No books I have found seems to do the trick either (either too simple or too advanced; missing manual to come?).

My question is: is there a way to have a big brother/big sister system to help out the Vancouverites with Drupal questions?
