Web hosts

I'm in the market for a new web host. Does anyone have any experience with InMotion Hosting? I'm primarily interested in their VPS offerings, but I'd be interested in stories about their shared hosting as well. Good? Bad? Ugly? What's the scoop?

2011 Hosting Survey (this is a WIKI - so please add your experiences by editing)

I'm hosting firstcongoappleton.org (Appleton, Wisconsin) using shared hosting offered by Time-Warner Business Class. The server runs FreeBSD. We have about 1,000 anonymous users per month. Max logged-in load is about 3 users. I have shell access, so can run Drush, which is definitely a plus. The systems is plenty responsive for our needs, and the admin interface is powerful. The main issue we're having - and it's almost a show-stopper - is that Drupal runs out of memory at around 37 MB. Clearing cache after updating core, contrib, etc. almost always results in WSOD. TWBC have provided this service to us at no cost as part of our Internet service. I would be interested in hearing about low-cost hosting options (<= $200 per year) that offer more working memory for Drupal processes.

Drupal multisite on Mosso Cloud

Someone (sorry, forgot your name) asked about setting up a Drupal multisite on the Mosso Cloud at the last group meeting. I've been trying the same thing, but unfortunately, it appears that's not possible.

I found this on a blog from the crew that built TheWrap.com:

... A few things to consider before moving a Drupal site to Mosso:

1) Is your site a multi-site? If it is then Mosso cloud sites is not an option. You cannot point multiple domains to one single instance of the hosting environment. There is no virtual host infrastructure.

Who do you like for hosting and why

Here is our situation. We have a small site on Burton Hosting. We have had trouble with their customer service and we need to move the completed drupal site to another hosting company. The whole site right now is only 600 mb. We don't expect alot of users. The community we serve is less than 1000. We are looking for a host that has a cpanel (that can be easily accessed without having to log on to your hosting account like godaddy) and great customer service. We tried godaddy and trying to upload the sql database was unsuccessful due to it's size and the limitations of the host.

Hosted Drupal Services/Providers?

I'm new to this group - quick introduction: I have been using Drupal for over a year on my own site (www.neovisionlabs.com - nothing fancy). The company I currently work for is considering a hosted CMS solution for an internal CMS and I'm voting for Drupal (of course ;-) Having run my own Drupal installation I am however dumb struck when it comes to hosted solutions - do any of you know a good local vendor? I'm mainly interested in corporate managed hosting services with a focus on Drupal.

Thanks,

Michael
