I am wondering if there are any Drupal users in Wisconsin that work in k12 education? The reason I am asking is if there is the Brainstorm K12 technology conference is coming up at the end of February, which would be a good time to try to get one of the breakout sessions or discussion groups there to focus on Drupal.
Read moreSeeking help installing FFmpeg
When in the course of human events it becomes necessary to install FFmpeg on one's Drupal server, I can find source code but no "Installing FFmpeg For Dummies" documentation. I am not adept at installing from source. I am assuming that someone reading this has done so already and would be able to arrange a time when you could look over my shoulder, hold my hand, etc. while I install FFmpeg so we can use Media Mover.
If you are such a person, please contact me offlist at ranoble at madison dot k12 dot wi dot us

Read morePulling Custom CCK Fields into Views Across Multiple Content Types
I need some help building a custom view for a new section of a portfolio site that will work as an index of Portfolio Projects. Currently I'm using the CCK, Image & Image Gallery, Node Reference URL, Views2, Views Attach, and other related or dependent modules.
As a sidebar, I also gave the SimpleViews module a try but could not get it to produce the page display I want. Perhaps this is still the way to go...maybe not?
Regardless, I'm having trouble getting a View built that will display the Portfolio Project content.

Read moreQuestion for the group
I have a question for you all, we have been building a website for local green business owners to connect with each other. We have an html page that I need to get to be xml. Our super Drupal programmer has not been able to figure out how to get a particular query from our website into an rss feed. It seems like the hook_nodeapi might be a solution if we could figure that out, and the REST server module is way over our heads. Has anyone encountered this before?

I can not use views because I want to include links to users who have flagged the nodes and this flag information is not available in views. So...as step one, I'm just trying to create the feed with just my profile nodes, here is what I have, wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction
function mymodule_rss() {
$nodes = db_query_range(db_rewrite_sql("SELECT n.nid FROM {node} n WHERE n.type = 'profile' AND n.status = 1"), 0, variable_get('feed_default_items', 100));
Drupal web hosting recommendations
Hi,
I'm looking for commercial hosting options for a Drupal site, and would appreciate some guidance on how much server power I might need. My experience so far is in developing relatively low-traffic sites. I'm also not an expert by any means in Linux server admin.

Hey all, I've been trolling the Wisconsin group for a bit, and was hoping someone with some more experience could help me wrap my head around this problem.
The Setup
There is one "corporate" site. It has recipes in a variety of topics.
There are 8 "franchise" sites. They should be able to show the same recipes as corporate, but as if they were their own. Each franchise site wil also have a few of their own pages, such as About Us, Contact Us, Specials. etc, each editable by people specific to that store.

Sorry I couldn't join everyone tonight for the Madison group.
I'm building a site in Drupal and started on my local computer with WAMP Server. Now I need to move things to a real web server, and I don't want to start over from scratch.
Any suggestions on the best way to do this? I've got the Using Drupal book, but didn't find anything in there about it.
