Only about 1.5% of the people involved in open source are women, leaving us terribly underrepresented. In the Drupal world, we're up to a whopping 7% 10% 17%, which only gets us to awfully unrepresented. ;) This group is for anyone (male, female, or otherwise) who believes that we can do better and wants to help.
So if you:
- are a woman who needs some help/guidance in order to get (more) involved with Drupal and the Drupal community
- are a woman who wants to network and get to know other women involved in Drupal
- are anyone who has ideas on things we can do to help encourage women to participate in Drupal
...then this is the group for you. :)
CMS Turf Wars go Mainstream: Drupal, WordPress, Joomla, TypePad or Entrepreneur Magazine compares Content Management Systems
Entrepreneur magazine recently took a look at the current CMS Turf War. Most small business owners know that the days for a simple landing page or brochure are over. Entrepreneur compared the following platforms: Posterous.com, WordPress, TypePad, Drupal, Joomla, and Vignette.

New place for collaboration: Builders Lounge
One thing we talked about at the BoF in San Francisco was the value of having a place where people could gather and work together, help and be helped. So, inspired by all of you, a few of us at UC Berkeley have started up a monthly Builders Lounge for in-person collaboration, support, and general Drupalitude.
First meeting will be Tuesday May 4 at 3:30 pm on the Berkeley campus - see the event posting for more details. I hope some of you Bay Area Drupalchix can come!

For those that are not leaving immediately after the sessions tomorrow (Wednesday), I would like to propose a "socializing while sightseeing" event.
We could meet at 6pm at the Powell/Market Street at the end of the Cable Car line (1min away from the Parc 55 hotel).
I need some air so unless it rains I will be going for a walk anyway. I am planning to grab something to eat as well. It would be nice to have a company so please let me know if you are interested.
I am not local so if anyone has ideas what we should/could see, please post here.

Just came from today's Drupalchix BoF @ DrupalconSF 2010. I thought I'd start a thread so that those of us who attended could recap our introductions. (Especially people like me who are totally new to Drupalchix!)

I'll be driving up to DrupalConSF in a Honda Civic on Saturday afternoon 4/17 and have room for up to three passengers if anyone is looking for a way up. I'm not coming back down for a number of days after the con, so the ride would be one way. Leaving from Glendale sometime around Noon.
Hotel - 4/17-4/22:
I also have a room at the Westin with 2 beds in it if there are any drupalchix out there looking to share a room (and split the cost) -- reservation is for 4/17 through 4/22. Women only, please. Will update this post when the offer is taken.

Location: at Drupalcon, Room 262

webchick had a good idea about doing another BoF at DrupalCon San Francisco like we did at Boston in 2008.
What about this idea?
Maybe we could meet up earlier in the conference, earlier in the morning before a lunch. We could break into groups of 20-30 women, and go round/introduce ourselves and have a group discussion. Then, we could eat lunch. People who have to go to sessions that conflict with the BoF could come to lunch. If we announce early on, people won't have a hard time finding the group.
Looking for Female roommate to share hotel room for Drupalcon San Francisco
I'm looking for a female roommate to share a hotel room with 2 beds from April 16th-23rd. Prefer non-smoking quiet person to share with same. I'm a web designer and Drupal developer from Vancouver, BC, Canada. I'm planning to do some sightseeing on the weekend before the conference starts. I have reservations for a room for 2 at the Donatello. See www.shellhospitality.com. With 2 sharing, the price is $80.00 USD per person per night - that's inlcuding taxes and fees. The Donatello is a great hotel with free wifi, fridge and microwave included.

Great news everybody!
Our company has offered to sponsor the printing of a Drupalchix Sticker. The sticker will be distributed at DrupalconSF, and Drupalchix will be able to take some stickers home to share with others at local Drupalcamps and meetups.
To make this the most awesome sticker ever, we are coordinating a sticker design contest.
This is how the contest works:
You: Design the graphics for a sticker.
Attach your final design to this thread by March 15, 2010.
Please see 'Sticker Design Specifications' below. (Stickers are 2 color, not 4 color.)
Looking for peers...
I know we're not supposed to post job postings here, but this isn't exactly a job posting, more of a networking opp. Let me know if you want me to remove this, but I'm hoping to target DrupalChix in particular. I've been running my own web business for close to a decade now, and I periodically need a little extra help with Drupal projects, HTML/PHP projects, and graphics. I'm looking for other women who may have a few extra hours now and then to work on projects, so I could sub-contract.
Read moreWhat is the difference between triggered rules and rulesets?
There is definitely a difference in the types of actions that are available between the two components.
As far as I can see, rulesets offer actions of a greater scope than triggered rules alone, but triggered rules seem to pick up on and allow me to use form actions as launch points for conditions and actions. It also looks like Rulesets can be "embedded" almost like subroutines in larger rulesets.
However, I am curious. Can someone give me an idea of where and why you would use a ruleset vs. a triggered rule?
Thanks very much,
Read moreHow to pass an nid to another page containing a view - or maybe the looney bin wouldn't be so bad, after all...
I think I am trying to do something fairly basic, but it is proving enormously difficult to find the documentation, or examples to accomplish it.
On submission, I simply want to send the nid of my CCK form to my url and send that on to another page. I have been trolling, working through the API, trying php snippets, reading, experimenting, buying Lullabot videos, going through tutorials, trying, installing, uninstalling, reinstalling - to the point I'm ready to go find a nice, quiet job at McDonalds.
