The Media group is the working group for the Drupal 7 File entity module, Media module and all the various modules that extend Media. The Media group is a place for all interested parties to collaborate and discuss anything related to the Drupal Media "ecosystem".

Responsive audio player
Greetings,
I wanted to bring to the attention of Drupal developers this fantastic responsive audio player http://osvaldas.info/examples/audio-player-responsive-and-touch-friendly/. I think porting this to a Drupal module would be an excellent addition to the collection of media modules. You can see some source codes by clicking the title above the player. Anyway, I wish I was a developer I would create this module in a heartbeat. Since I am not, I throw it our there for other developers to consider. Enjoy. Cheers Kevin

Office hours
Immediately following the IRC meeting, we will be holding weekly office hours in IRC for one hour! The main goal of office hours is to help mentor and empower new contributors to become regular Media contributors.

tsvenson and I were talking about Media office hours. We did not meet for a while now and I believe we have a lot to talk about. What about standard date (Tuesday 8PM UTC)? I'd also propose that we try Hangout instead of IRC. It seems much more efficient to communicate via audio/video. What do you think?

Multi-file uploads in core?
I've been working on a patch that adds support for "multiple" HTML5 attribute to Drupal core. So far I've done:
- 'file' and 'managed_file' FAPI elements got new setting "#multiple"
- File & Image field widget uses this to allow multi-file uploads
What needs to be done:
- Implement multi-file uploads on Image field
- fix and update tests
- update docs
Patch can be already tested on File field widget (File & Image fields are now supported) so I think it's a good moment to ask for some feedback.
Toward a Media 2.0-alpha1 release
There is now an issue for this: http://drupal.org/node/1889134 - changes should be tracked over there.

The following is a proposal based on conversations with folks working on the Media module and hopes to establish some clarity on what needs to get done to have releasable code. At this time we should probably consider Media 2.0 feature frozen in order to address the major bugs in the issue queue.

Confusion on how to use media to display content from 3rd parties
I have been using D7 for about 1.5 years and have never been able to to get Media to actually display the media I link to from 3rd parties. I am a musician Drupal User, not a developer and am confused by the media module. The most success I have had is getting the module to output the title of a media Item I put in it as a link.

Media in D8 Core?
Are there any plans to include Media as part of D8 core? I'm excited to see how the module is developing and would like to know what efforts exist to see it become part of the standard Drupal install.

I would like to see the ability to add additional meta information to any file that gets uploaded. For example, copyright information, author, caption, producer, etc... This info would then be made available to the process that renders the media asset in the WYSIWYG editor (just like Title and Alt) and to the Text Formatter for media tags.
How could this be achieved? What steps would need to be implemented?
