Think about volunteer at this year's DCLA2013

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Hello LA Community,

I was just looking at the volunteering sessions and attendee list for Saturday and Sunday of next week's Drupal Camp LA and wanted to take a moment to remind everyone they are there:

http://2013.drupalcampla.com/sessions/volunteer-saturday-8am
http://2013.drupalcampla.com/sessions/volunteer-sunday-8am

We currently have @7 people for both days, but they look like the same people for each day with a few of the usual suspects. I appreciate all that you do usual suspects!

I wanted to let everyone know that volunteering is a great way to get involved in the community and meet others. It was a very big catalyst for me and I hope that any of you out there reading this who has been to a meetup or other LA Community event might have the urge to come and help make our event better.

You don't need any experience with DCLA or Drupal in general. Just a smile. There will be others to help guide you with your questions so you can answer other questions.

If you can't do the 8am setup (yes it is early...and we have a good amount of people already), we will be asking for people to take hour shifts and sit the front table at the camp to help people with directions and talk about their experiences at the camp.

Once the schedule goes up for the weekend please consider giving of your time and energy and fit an hour in for DCLA2013!

Can't wait for camp. Hope to see you there!

Hello All,
2 days away from DCLA2013!!!! Woot!. I hope everyone out there is getting excited...

The schedule has been posted and I hope you are all refining your session picks to maximize your benefit from the camp and maybe learn a thing or two!

Speaking of benefiting, I hope my discussion about volunteering has sunk in by now and that you want to reserve one or possibly more hours to help others find their way around the camp, answer general questions, and just make people's day better with a smile.

I have posted a spreadsheet online to organize volunteers to take 1 hour shifts throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. There are 7 slots on Saturday and 5 on Sunday for a total of 12 volunteers needed...PLEASE BE THAT PERSON!

The spreadsheet is here and is publicly editable:

Let me know if you have any questions. Update the spreadsheet as you feel necessary. You have the power.

See you Saturday or even tomorrow if you are joining the Crifkin fellas for the free training :)
